The point is to eat plenty of fat and little carbs. Fat isn't bad for you. By increasing the amount of fat in your diet you don't need to count calories or even worry that you aren't getting enough. Your body will know when you have enough. But it all depends on the person I guess. I find it easier to eat like this because…

I think this is the best post here. If you have T2D then follow a LCHF diet. I would recommend this site: dietdoctor.com. Watch the videos, read the articles and follow the 2 week diet plan. No need to count calories, it just takes time and a little money to get going. Another site to look at is realmealrevolution.com.…

Psyllium Husk. Virtually the whole thing is fiber.

I suggest LCHF. Here is a good starting point if you haven't already seen it: dietdoctor.com. Lots of good information for you to make an informed decision with science to back it up. If you follow the 2 week challenge I'm sure you will feel better and not as hungry. [edited by MFP Moderator]

That line clear says eat what ever you want. To someone less healthy minded it says eat *kitten* food and you will be fine as long as you watch your CICO. I'm not saying you don't have to watch your calorie intake. I'm saying no diet is best. As long as you choose good foods and you don't over eat you will be fine. I'm a…

You seem to be the only one here that actually has any clue. Good link.

This statement is rubbish. Don't follow a diet. Just limit / cut added sugar (sugar from fruit is fine) and use whole / un-processed foods in your cooking. Examples would be to cook with fresh veggies, olive oils / coconut oils and lean meats (chicken, fish and beef) etc... Add herbs and spices to your taste and enjoy. You…

Exactly what I thought. That isn't how to conduct a study if you want recognition in your field.

Maybe go back in time and start earlier?

Sure you can. You just need to exercise more than average. Michael Phelps had a diet of up to 12,000 calories a day when he was training around 5 hours a day. Source: here As for the actual question in hand: working out is so much more than just losing weight. Both weight lifting and cardio help to strengthen the heart as…

Watch any Youtube vid of Ronnie Coleman. Surely he will get you Psyched!

What do you have against exercise? Probably lost a lot of fat burning muscle too I'm sure of it.

Exactly what I do. Was just curious because it seemed quite low to me. Still I find it interesting the varying differences from one equation to the next. Thanks all for the feed back to my question.

If you do the same routine, using the same muscles every week the body adapts. If you change the routine and force the body to use different muscles you're creating new neuromuscular pathways, thus stressing the body in a new way. This by itself will help create more calorie burn. I understand what you are saying though,…

Who the hell is Tony Horton?

Sounds like it might be time to change your exercise routine. Our bodies are really good at adjusting to the stresses we put on them, so what was hard becomes easy and as such we don't need to spend any / or as many calories to get through the same routine.

I always find it easier to stop eating junk food by not buying it in the first place. If you don't have it you can't eat it. If the temptation to buy is greater than your will to not then stop shopping in shops that stock junk food. Go to veggie stores and butcher stores where you can buy decent food. Of course if you…
