No, I'm sorry I think you're misunderstanding. She only wants 50-70 grams of my protein to come from animal products.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and support. I spoke to a dietitian who explained to me that the 50-70 grams of protein is only taking account protein from animal products, nuts & legumes. Other grains with protein such as bread and oatmeal are not counted towards my protein goal. Also, if I choose to use nuts as my…

Thank you! Ndj19 & lolBroScience! That's exactly what I needed to hear! I am however having a problem going above the 74 grams of protein a day... Is the protein number ballpark or should I treat it as I do sugar (NEVER go above)?

How do you maintain sugar below your MFP goal? Mine is 22g and I am hitting about 40-45 with one serving of fruit (berries or a lunchbox sized apple) and my all-natural organic plain Greek yogurt and all of my veggies.

I was the SAME way! I started out very small--cutting out soda and starchy vegetables (something that was easy for me since I'm not a big fan of veggies anyway). I also removed snack cakes and potato chips and fast food. I increasingly took more and more out of my diet, finally moving to bread (the hardest of them all).…
