  • Can I ask if you mean that it is simply your diet that is leading to your good health? Do you think that part of this is also genetics? I lost 90lbs and have maintained it for 4 years with diet and exercise both. Now, I do take medication for high blood pressure. But neither my doctor nor I can figure out why this is so. I…
  • I do a lot of JM's videos and I just up the intensity with heavier weights. You can also simply add weights to the circuits that she does without them. I just progress to heavier weights which increases the difficulty and keeps me from finding it too easy.
  • I started with Jillian videos and loved it! But I progressed beyond her and wanted to up the weights and cardio with someone else *gasp! cheating!* So I started with Cathe Freidrich. I love love love her videos. She has about a million of them and she does a million different things: cardio, kickboxing, weights...she does…
  • Cute! I bet we could totally make that, @rabbitjb ...with a better quality T-shirt (and way less money).
  • She's is real...real insane. We work in a hospital, by the way.
  • Hahahahaha! Just like calories don't count on your birthday.
  • I have a coworker who refuses to eat meat. I told her it was nice that she was a vegetarian. She said "no, I'm not a vegetarian. I just don't eat anything with muscles because I read that muscle weighs so much more than fat and I don't want to ingest all that heavy meat muscle". (shovels in the macaroni and cheese) Go…
  • I'm a girl, so my experience might be different...but I lift 3X's a week and run 3X's a week 18-28 miles a week. My hip flexors can get really tight from running and it hurts doing leg days. So I do a ton of stretching and yoga (which might not be your thing). But for me, I stretch Every. Single. Day. It helps.
  • Way to go, girl! Figuring out what works for you food-wise is just trial and error. You will soon learn what you can stomach before a run and what you can't. My best tip is splurge for a pair of running shoes that are perfect for YOU. Get fitted at a running store for the right shoes. In my opinion, the shoes make all the…
  • What helped me was icing them after every run and stretching my shins as soon as I;m done running. Step back with one foot, toes down, and pull gently to stretch the shin. When I started doing this, the shin splints never came back.
  • Misty, you are certainly not alone in your sugar-loving boat! I try to cut back as often as I can. I have had success with a cup of hot tea and a teaspoon of honey at night in place of desert. Here's what I really like for breakfast in the morning: I toast 2 of those wheat Eggo waffles with sugar free strawberry…
  • 1. Yes 2. N/A 3. I do it because I think it's very important to keep my heart strong (it is another muscle), it is another way to reduce overall body fat, and I like getting sweaty. So I actually really like cardio. 4. My number one cardio is running. I LOVE to run. When I first started out, I hated it. But now…
  • I like to mess around with the incline for a certain number of minutes, then the pace for a certain number of minutes, then do something different for a certain number of laps, then a certain pace for a certain song...all in a desperate attempt to do ANYTHING different! My treadmill is right in front of a window so I can…
  • Have a post-workout snack that you are looking forward to...that you won't eat unless you get up and complete your workout. I also have a 30min drive to work after my workout so I'll download a song that I'm looking forward to hearing on the way to work. I don't get to hear it unless I get my morning workout in! Give…
