  • Happy Monday everyone!! Hope everyone is doing well, making good food choices!! Had a great run at lunch ! Felt like I was "actually" running versus just shuffling along, went further than I normally do for that time! But my dang Garmin HRM "lost" the data from my run, it just recorded my walk after my run! Oh well! It…
  • I downloaded Rockmyrun app! There are some great playlist on there, the shorter playlists (less than 30 or 45 minutes are free) or you can pay for it and get longer ones. I just pick two lists if I need more music!
  • Happy Sunday everyone! Hope every body is having a good day! I think today's workout is going to be taking and cleaning the goats sheds and pen. My husband has the stomach bug so I don't want to leave the kid with him. We may try and hit the fire station this afternoon after his nap for a workout. But taking and shoveling…
  • Just do it! I have a similar story to yours, was very active growing up and have physical jobs after college, then I got a desk job, family and kids!! Its not easy, not going to lie, But I find if I make time for myself and take care of myself I am a much happier person and a better wife and mother.
  • Good morning ladies!! Its friday!!! Hope everyone is having a good day, any big plans for the weekend. Saturday we have my step sons basketball game, I'm hoping to get to the rec center an hour before the game for a work out. Thinking I might just take my youngest son to swim before the game, help wear him out so he isnt…
  • I have paraguard too and no complaints!! I tried several hormonal methods of birth control, they all made my crazy, light headed, fainted.. fun stuff like that. I got my first Paraguard before I had children, it was painful but only for a couple seconds, then I had a dull ache, like period cramps for a day. It has caused…
  • I hadnt eaten there is 6+months and for some reason it sounded good last night, I did split it with my toddler! lol Walking a few blocks to work is great, all those steps add up
  • I too had a ehhh eating day yesterday, did good all day but then we got KFC Famous bowls on the way home from basketball practice. It wasnt the best choice, but I was still under calories! Im sure I will feel the effects of all the sodium today!! We have a long day in court today, so hoping to get a lunch break to go for a…
  • Managed 15,936 steps yesterday, If I would of looked before I went to bed I would of ran down the driveway or something to get to 16,000 lol. Today at lunch I went to the rec center and did 20 minutes on the treadmill at 5-7% incline and walking about as fast as I could, then lifted some weights. Knee is a little sore so I…
  • Good afternoon everyone!! After 7 hours in court and 3 hours driving yesterday I only managed 9000 steps, but Im making up for it today! Got out and ran at lunch, haven't ran since Thursday, today was cold windy and a little icy, but all in all a good run/walk!! I think I am going to repeat a day of Week 3 tomorrow before…
  • Welcome Darcus!! The more you read and learn the easier, at least for me. Weight loss is much more about the foods you eat than the exercise. I cant remember the amounts, but I think its like 80% what you eat and 20% how much you work out ! I work out so I can eat more The best bit of advice I can give people is get a…
  • Good Monday Morning to everyone !! Had a slow weekend, but did good on my eating and got my steps in yesterday. Still not feeling 100% from being sick, but getting there. I had to drive 40 miles on icy snowy roads this morning to go work at a different court for the day! I wanted to be able to get a run in outside today,…
  • Everyone is doing great, I love reading the updates and the challenged people have overcome!! Keep up the good work ! I normally weigh on Monday morning but switched to Friday to keep on track with the group. Down 1 pound since I weighed Monday, very happy with that. That brings my total to just over 6 pounds in three…
  • I save enough calories for one scoop of ice cream at night. We normally have some after the kids go to bed, kind of our unwind and mellow out time for just us
  • Im the same way about workouts without music, that and gum. I have a really hard time workout without gum, I've even cut workouts short because I didnt have any
  • Oh no!! Its the revenge of the fitness trackers!!
  • I'm going to have a minor melt down!! The Garmin Connect app is down!! Thats how I track my excercise and calories!! I log my food here, but then the Garmin app tracks steps and workouts for me!! Its been down since last night, I keep trying to sync my stuff and it always fails :(
  • Mine is open to friend, I'm at 1700-1800 plus whatever I get for exercise. I just opened mine, thought it might help with being accountable
  • I'm home with a sick kid today, probably use it as a rest day. Still going to try and get my steps in, some house cleaning and working outside while he naps. Managed 14,500 yesterday. What did everyone have for breakfast? I had a smoothy with 1cup almond/coconut milk, a banana, 1/4 cup whole oats, chia seeds and protein…
  • Everyone is doing great! I'm always interested in hearing what other people do for for work. Feel free to share if you want I'm a district court clerk, I work for a judge doing their paperwork and going into court with them. I'm also a volunteer firefighter/emt
  • Day off work for me today. Dang phone, I had a long post typed up and it didn't post it. Oh well. Short story, my husband and I are off work today. My youngest son, husband and I had breakfast today, went for a little walk in the cold and I got to go workout while the little one napped.
  • I also have the Garmin Vivosmart!! I really like it, I love having the display and leave it on "time" most of the day and use it like a watch, then I can check my steps whenever I want. I got the chest strap heart rate monitor, since I believe they are more accurate than the writst HR monitor. I have the app on my phone…
  • I've found that even if I go over my calories I lot them, it helps keep me accountable and helps me think twice before I do it again
  • I managed 16,024 yesterday :) Chasing coyotes in the dark last night helped add a few thousand
  • Great job Christine!!! The first day is the hardest for me! Once I get that first one done it gets easier. On days when I am just not quite feeling it I change my clothes and tell myself I will at least go out and walk, most of the time once I get moving I find the motivation and do more than I had planned.
  • I DO!! Im just getting back into it after a dew years of laziness!! Have you gone to a good running store and got fitted for shoes? That makes a huge difference, I use to have a lot of problems with shin splints then I got fitted for the right shoes for me and it made a big difference. Also increading your milage too fast…
  • I was just sharing on the c25k thread, but I LOVE the app Rockmyrun. It has tons of playlists, most of the lists shorter than an hour (maybe 45 minutes are free) If I need something longer I just pick another one and continue on. They really keep me motivated, you can also pick playlists based on your running tempo, heart…
  • I use to be nervous about going at lunch, worried what people would think. Once I got past that I really look forward to it, when the weather is bad I go to the rec center just up the street and do an incline on the treadmill or lift! I dont know what everyone does for music while running (if you listen to anything) but I…
