You do whatever you feel comfortable in doing. Personally I do it fortnightly as that way you really will see a slight change in your body weight. If you have a calorie deficit and keep at the good carbs and 20-30% protein you'll be well on your way :-)

What they are referring to however, is a foods thermal effect, defined as being the amount of calorific expenditure to digest your food/drink. Celery is very light and bares around 6kcal per stalk.
