  • My grandmother used to make homemade cinnamon bread with honey butter... So very good... usually on Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter morning it was the very best smell I can remember as a child. I could gorge on that for a ridiculous amount of calories easily.
  • Just adding information that's all. If that's what you feel you want to do then go for it! More power to you!
  • I've been told that 12% BF is healthy for men and 15% for women. Just information from a trainer though, he could have fudged the numbers. He told me himself he's been at 8% BF but couldn't maintain that comfortably.
  • YOU are going to help you! Just start now, stay at a calorie deficit and you will lose. Add in some physical activity and you'll love how you feel stronger and slimmer! I promise you'll be happy with the results even if you don't get to that 80 lb mark.
  • Lannister? No no.... I'd proudly be a Stark.... or a Mrs. John Snow....
  • OP I've lost 55lbs since Jan 1, 2015... My doctor wanted to put my on Metformin, I tried it for 2 weeks and felt sick. Stopped taking it and just stayed within a calorie deficit. I do workout about 5 days a week though and am active for at least 30 minutes every day. It is possible without any medications. PLUS you have to…
  • Go home and start my weekend!
  • I was started on BC at about 13, to regulate my periods and I had to change kinds a lot to find what worked for me and even then it would only work for about 2 years and stopped. This is your first time with BC? Your body is adjusting, sounds like you know you have to give it time. I'd ask the doctor to switch to a lower…
  • I'm fortunate that my gym does have daycare service and I feel okay leaving my son there for an hour or so, but his dad is always there for us so I tend to drop him with his dad after work so I can get my workout in then hustle home and cook, eat, clean up, bath and bedtime... its hard. I have help and its hard... It took…
  • It only frustrates me if that person is actually my friend and not just a work acquaintance. I have a close friend that is so very depressed about the way she looks, wants to change things but just hasn't made it work for her yet. I feel sad for her, so I don't even talk about it unless she does first and even then I only…
  • I'm up at 5:15 getting myself ready then getting a 3 year old ready, getting him to eat and grabbing something for myself in the morning and getting to work by 7:30... I AM a morning person and its still hard to get up early... BUT when I do it feels SO GOOD to already have my workout done :) Like you finished your…
  • Too much.... yes maybe all us women know.... but too much... men should not know these things nor think about them. ahh... and then there's this...
  • Ha! Too funny :D
  • Like the first answer, tracking everything and seeing what I really eat throughout the day. (Part of it for me was realizing what I was feeding my child too!) Small changes: At least 30 minutes of activity per day. No soda, juice or sugary drinks Telling myself every single day that I am worth the effort it takes, and I…
  • When I hit 50 lbs lost I gave myself some slack, my SO bought me a Fitbit Charge for mothers day to tell me how proud he is of me and motivate me to keep it going. I've not told anyone this yet... but when I get down to my goal weight and have maintained it for some time I really want to buy myself a motorcycle. I raced…
  • I think she was talking to the emotional part of weight loss.
  • When I first started counting calories what I focused on was the amount and quality of protein I was getting, this way I wasn't feeling hungry all the time. After a few weeks of solid logging you'll have most of the food you eat in your recent foods and it will be easier to pre-plan your meals then you can fit in snacks if…
  • I'm at a 156 day streak, I don't post much cause I really don't know what to say but I do comment on others posts and like posts. I do enjoy reading what my friends have been doing and love to see them lose weight or gain muscle if that is their goal. add me if you like
  • I knew I was losing weight when I ran my hands down my sides and felt a smaller muffin top! I knew I was losing weight when I started to search through the closet for clothes I had previously put away because they were too small :) I knew I was losing weight when the trainer at the gym pointed it out! I knew I was losing…
  • I agree with others, report them, or ignore them... Sadly this is life and people will probably never stop being hateful or rude. For the most part though, you'll find that the regular crowd at the gym is kind and helpful. Some women can even be nice and support your progress... and THAT feels AWESOME!
  • Wow... don't assume...
  • Looks Beautiful! Love the dress too :D
  • So does the HRM make that much difference? I love my fitbit, it does motivate me to get to the goal amount of steps each day and the calculation of the TDEE was great for me since I was just going off what MFP gave me for calories. I can see now how often I'm eating under budget, that seems to be a lot for me though cause…
  • I started by being honest, tracking every single piece of food or ounce of drink. I started at a gym and they took my body fat % and I was totally ashamed. I have a son that is 3 years old and I want more kids... I want him to enjoy healthy foods, to know that treats are nice but protein and veggies are what fuels his…
  • When I do the stair climber I don't seem to get any floors climbed, but when I walk outside and go uphill I get a ton... so I'd love to hear the answers on this. My Fitbit doesn't have a HRM either.
  • I'm sure others have said this... but you don't have to eat rabbit food. I don't like veggies, I don't eat salad... and I've lost 53 lbs so far. You can make yummy food and simply make it more healthy by replacing certain things you cook with and he will never know the difference. Also you should start measuring your food…
  • I think like others have said the food scale would be most accurate, but personally I don't have one. I do plan to get one but I don't think I'll weigh my food forever so for me it would be another tool for me to learn how much is a serving size and then I feel I should be able to limit myself without having to weigh it…
  • This! Easier said than done but you have to gain some confidence then build on it, when you are walking do your best not to think about all these negative thoughts you've got.... think about the birds singing, the sound of the cars whizzing by, maybe a fountain at a park... I try to clear my mind completely when I'm…
  • 5'4 - Used to say I'm vertically challenged :)
  • You all make a person scared to get married.....
