Yeah, and I tried the hot chocolate once - it was gross.

I mix mine with water - I don’t want the extra liquid calories. Whenever this household makes pancakes or waffles - usually every weekend, a scoop of powder goes in the batter. I add a partial scoop to oatmeal when I have that for breakfast. I drink one scoop a day - two on days that I lift. I try not to think about…

This! And if you’ve lost inches, I wouldn’t call that bulking up. I also agree with what quikysilver said about water retention. I tend to give myself some extra rest days once in a while (every few months or more often if I feel like I need it) just to let my body recover more. If you’re not sure, take body measurements…

You have to be disciplined about this, even if for a month or two. I don’t weigh all my food, but I log all of it. If my weight loss ever stalls though, the first thing I will do is be stricter about logging and weighing because it can make or break your plan. Most people here will tell you to weigh ALL your food,…

Another daily weigher here. I like seeing the overall trend. Some things - like a late supper... or pizza night -affect my weight more than my period does. The upward bumps in my weight used to bother me; now it’s just my routine.

I haven’t had a problem lifting while using my diva cup, except when I’ve put it in wrong (it didn’t open/unfold after turning it🙄) which has happened once at the gym. For reference though, my flow has tapered off in the last several years, I am in my forties, no kids. Sometimes I use a liner pad, just to be sure. Those…

Do it for your son. And do it for you, because sitting at the sidelines because of fear (or insert whatever insecurity) robs us of experiencing so many things. Most people are wrapped up in their own stuff, or don’t care. Someday your son might have the best memories of you in the water with him. And I am really pale too…

Sigh. Looks like I’m making pizza this week-end!
-
Tell me about it. The cottage cheese I am currently eating does not equal pizza.
-
Nope. Two slices is not enough. Because of this, we only have pizza once a month - if I have three pieces once a month, I am fine with the calorie splurge. FWIW I don’t normally have a “cheat day” because I often fit a small treat into my day, whether it’s a piece of chocolate, a small bowl of popcorn, whatever. This way,…

I work with a bunch of freakishly fit people during my field season, and it bugs me that I’m one of the less fit of the crew (to be fair to me I’m one of the oldest -at 44) I also found a quote somewhere: “I don’t want to look pretty. I want to look otherworldly and vaguely threatening.” I might never get to the…

Like others have already said, most of us only eat back a portion of the exercise calories MFP calculates... 50% -ish And, if you are doing strenth training and want to log the calories you burn, you can find them under cardio when you “select exercise type”. If you log strength training under “strength” it doesn’t say…

That’s an impressive streak! Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Sometimes that unknown becomes bigger in our mind than it has to be. It’s just a number that, by itself, doesn’t mean a lot. A month of daily weigh-ins gives me a pattern and something to work with. If you know, it means you can do something about it. I personally weigh myself every day. If I leave it a long time,…

It is a constant struggle, and I used to think the same way: I’ve lost the weight so I should be good to go! I too, have experienced several deaths in my immediate family, and those deaths have put me through similar spirals. ❤️ thanks for sharing.

I think Eva Marie look fabulous in that shot; I just can’t see how the 125 is realistic. If she was thin like a model (as in the VS one you mention), fine. But with muscle mass? I just can’t see myself weighing in that low and being strong. And I agree, everyone carries weight different! Thanks to everyone who has…

I have no idea about the coffee additions... but try switching to plain black coffee. I made the painful transition ( I drank coffee with cream and two sugars for over twenty years!) and now I can’t stand coffee with anything in it! It took getting used to but now it’s one thing I never worry about calorie-wise. Good luck…

Thanks. I’m 44. I think the last time I weighed in the 120s was probably in high school. Or earlier.

Ok. I’ve read through this thread... I keep coming back to it again and again, but help me out here (ladies specifically). Someone here posted that Eva Marie (the one in the photo) is 5’8” and weighs 125 pounds. Can any women here confirm that this is is a legitimate weight for someone who is that tall and looks like that?…

So much good information here! I prefer weights! I do not do cardio at the gym. Blech to the hamster wheels! I do my walking and biking outside, thanks... but the cardio I do is secondary to doing weights - of the heavy kind - with a focus in compound movements. I have found over the years that I prefer the results I get…

Prunes. If you eat too many you’ll have the opposite problem though. I actually love them and eat them pretty regularly (haha). Beets also help in that department (for me) especially if I don’t eat them all the time. And someone else mentioned coffee. And definitely drink more water when you up your fibre!

So true! It took a long time for it to click that the fitness part of the equation is a lifelong effort. I still have to get it through my head that the food part is too. At least I am getting better: the yoyo swings are getting smaller.

Thanks for posting this. Youe experience sounds similar to mine. I have been doing MFP since late 2014, and I have successfully gotten to a weight I’m happy with multiple times, and then I get derailed... and start over again. I do seasonal field work in summer, which wrecks my body, so I come home and ignore CACO until…

Who cares? YOU DO. Make changes, do what you do... for YOU. I have times where I have the same thing going through my head. Instead of “who cares?” The voice in my head asks, “What’s the point?” You have to make the change for yourself, and some days (and sometimes a lot of days) it doesn’t feel worth the struggle. I use a…

I used to wake up hungry in the middle of the night and then I started having a protein shake right before bed. It has helped me. I’d also think you might wanna bump up your protein by 5% especialy if you’re weight lifting. I read the whole thread, and apologies if I’m wrong... but did you say you’re using a 500 calorie…

Don’t let a crap day become a crap week. Every day you can carry on like it never happened!

Working out always lifts my mood. How I feel afterward is always worth my time at the gym. And feeling stronger. And having muscle definition are my second and third motivators!

This is so true!!

I started out by buying women’s muscle and fitness (ha. Do they even make that anymore?) and and body building book with lots of pictures and plans in it. These days I have a bunch of fitness people I follow on Instagram, and I look up proper form for new moves on a few websites. The gym I use is less busy first thing in…
