  • Currently in the oven is a cheesy, cauliflower and chicken bake (with onion and bacon)...it smells delicious, we shall see! We tend to keep it pretty simple, protein and veggies...every once in a while we get creative with cauliflower pizza or something else. It's not too difficult once you get going! I don't really bother…
  • Welcome to MFP! This is a great place to get help you along your journey to good health! The other stuff (like finding the one) I don't know about...although I see lots of flirting happening on the message boards! I look forward to following your successes!
  • Auburn...easy access to Mt. Rainier hikes and other Puget sound area. On and off MFP for years...currently on a good run. Ready for spring though and looking forward to getting back outside!
  • Congratulations on hitting that goal! Those are some excellent results!
  • We do laps in the pool...neither of us are strong swimmers...we keep it interesting by doing a couple of laps with a kickboard, then a couple with fins, then we "pool jog" a couple...etc. I can tell it burns a lot of calories! Rowing machines are also great cardio workouts and low impact...love them! Go Cougs btw....WSU…
  • Only you can decide to fully do this...it isn't easy for sure. Some things that help are: planning out your whole day and journal it ahead of time. spend some time meal and/or snack prepping so you have food choices that easily fit into your recommended calories. Drink lots of water...it helps the fullness feeling. I try…
  • I let go of the notion that you had to have breakfast....now my calories (1200) seem to stretch further easier. I'm not hungry in the mornings and get up around 5. Generally, I start to get hungry around 10. I know my husband walks downstairs and eats something first thing...even he isn't sure if he is hungry or it's just…
  • I just read your story on page 2...so great! We often cross the PCT on our hikes and it goes through our mind...could we do it? Are we too old? We also cross or join up with the wonderland trail (around Mt. Rainier)...maybe someday!
  • Congratulations on such a great success! You are an inspiration!
  • That is my motivation too...not missing out on things because of weight! Want to be able to keep up on hikes with my fit husband and best friend! Want to be the one to initiate walks, hikes, bike rides, etc... Low carb works for me too...but for me, I go slow and steady....10 down since 1/1
  • Welcome to MFP! OP: You probably should prioritize sleep first if that's possible. Getting enough sleep will help with your depression, motivation and so many others!
  • Hi and welcome to MFP! Good luck! You can do this!
  • Good morning to both of you as well! I've been on MFP on and off for a few years. It is a great tool for ideas, recipes, food tracking, advice and anything else you might need. I've been back since 1/1 and have lost 10 lbs in that time. You've both done this before...you can do it again!
  • Welcome to MFP! I hope you can find what you need here, do you belong to a gym? I find going to classes is a great way to get started...you can try something new and maybe find a new workout that you love. Not sure how old your children are but maybe it is something you can all do together? I Have never gone through what…
  • eggplant...blech! I'm definitely on the red delicious apples are icky train! That might be it....there are a few other things I won't try...part of me feels like I should since so many others love them: Raw Oysters come to mind (even typing it makes me feel like I have a big loogi in my throat)
  • How is the 1600 working for you? Are you losing at a reasonable pace? Are you feeling good, not lightheaded, etc... I would be hesitant to up my calories based on what my fitbit says...I tend to stick with MFP recommendations.
  • You are NOT the boss of me....but I am easily manipulated clearly!
  • I work out with my husband of 25 years and feel so lucky to have him as a gym buddy...he doesn't need to lose weight but would prefer to eat healthy and be active. I do often get annoyed when he pushes me to hike or go for a walk but ultimately I am very thankful for him as my life partner! He is a great example for me.
  • Welcome to MFP! Have you had a successful start? check in when you can and I look forward to following your journey!
  • I love this combo: Chicken breast (I cook it and sprinkle dry ranch seasoning on it while cooking) Tons of thinly sliced celery diced apple light mayo I will make this and it will ususally cover 2 lunches (a whole chicken breast and one apple...I always use more celery than apple) and it is delicous! You could totally…

  • OK, I 'googled" it...it looks pretty great. I already pay for and use a gym membership plus an additional yoga class so no more $$$ on fitness classes for me!
  • I've done lots of yoga but aren't sure what DDP is...I"ll have to check it out! Nice job on your first week! losses will probably slow a bit but you are off to a great start!
  • find those foods that you like that easily fit into your daily calories and then make sure you have them around the house...for me, I always have apples, celery, and frozen chicken breasts...I know I can make a meal out of those any time. I would also say, focus on the food as you get started...learning what is healthy,…
  • Lots of great working out which is important...but I always read that abs are created in the kitchen. Make sure you are accurately weighing and tracking what you eat and staying below your recommended calorie intake. :-) And, enjoy your holiday no matter what the scale says!
  • nice start! You are right, anyone can do this.
  • Sweets are my weakness...I had spiraled around the holidays and was having all of it whenever I wanted. So, January 1 (I know...so predictable) I went cold turkey off sugar. I did keep fruit in my diet and didn't worry too much about sugar in whole foods. It only took a couple of days and now I'm ok resisting it OR having…
  • I bought one for my son for Christmas from Amazon...read lots of reviews and ended up with crock pot brand I think. I'm not sure what size I ended up with but I did get him a cookbook about crockpot meals for 2. I have a hard time cooking smaller meals...especially casserole type meals.
  • Wow, you are tiny! Nice work!!!
  • Welcome back both of you! I started back in January 1 after a few months away.
  • Welcome to MFP...look forward to following your journey!
