If I put it on my food, I log it all, even if it drips off. I also find I can get away with using less oil than I used to. I often use just a spritz of olive oil in my misto for roasting.

Good luck! Bit of advice from a newlywed - as you get closer to you wedding, focus less on calories and more on maintaining a healthy diet, and don't stress the number on the scale. The extreme stress can affect your weight loss. I know the month before the wedding I was lucky if I ate a home-cooked meal and even luckier…

I'd reflect on how your routine changes in the summer. You say you live in SoCal, so the weather is warmer. Do you go to the beach and eat out more? Go to parties more often? Work shorter days and enjoy going outside, followed by snacks? I know in the summer, I have no structure (since I'm a teacher and have the time off),…

On days I workout, I usually eat back those calories but remain around 1500-1600 (depending on my hunger for the day), with usually 100-300 calories burned, depending on my activities of the day. On rest days, with 0 exercise calories, I typically try to eat around 1400-1500. I tend to feel a little hungrier on rest days…

It sounds like coffee with creamer is something you love! So why eliminate a food that makes you happy from your diet? Look for ways to make room for those extra calories. Is there something you don't love as much you could eliminate or lighten up instead? I'm loathe to give up my favorite foods if I know it keeps me happy.

When I was a little kid, I did competitive figure skating. In college, I started yoga and then pilates. Now I do pole, lyra, personal training and weights/circuit.

All that stuff where you're hanging off the bungee and spinning is a lot harder than you think it does. I see they're using one arm to grip the bungee, which requires activated shoulder & arm muscles, while also using core to keep you upright. Looks like there's a lot of sustained work that increases heart rate and…

Agree with this, and are you new to working out? My dance studio has a flyer explaining that that when you start exercising you can feel strong emotions coming up. It's not unusual for people who are moving their bodies much more than they usually do, you can feel upset, angry, or overwhelmed. Especially if you notice some…

It's OK to eat your exercise calories, but one thing to keep in mind is that MFP seems to over-estimate exercise calories. I'd also work on shifting your mindset from "exercise is to burn calories to eat more" to "exercise is for my lifelong health and to feel better." I think the key is to do what feels good for your…

I’m 5’3” and at 185 lbs ish, losing 1.5 lbs/week at about 1450 calories.

We're working on one of my bucket list items this summer... Walking the Camino de Santiago!

This is maybe super gross, but... about a year and a half ago, I had to have a birth control implant surgically removed from my arm. It had migrated deep into the subcutaneous fat and my OBGYN wasn't able to remove it in office. After he tried, I had a big, gross, mushed around cut into fat in my arm, and had to dress it…

The first few weeks are when you're most likely to quit - remember it's a long game! It's like anything hard. If you want to reach the end of the book, you have to start with the first page.

Hey! I'm turning 28 this year - I added you!

I don't eat all my calories back, maybe 1/3-1/2, and mainly on days when I have two activities (IE, today I did a weights class in the morning and in an hour I'm taking a Lyra hoop class, so I'll eat back some, but not all). I feel very hungry if I don't eat back some, and I feel like it gives me more energy. But honestly,…

Are you sure your brain fog is from a caloric deficit and not something else? I had really bad brain fog when I stopped using as many dairy products, until my doctor diagnosed me with a vitamin D deficiency and had me start a supplement. It could be a vitamin deficiency, or it could be stress, or it could be sleep.

What do you like to do more? What's your favorite class that motivates you to keep going back? That's going to be the thing that helps you the most. I tried for many stupid, pointless years to try to get into cardio because I knew it put me in a greater calorie deficit and finally just decided that I hate it, so I won't…

1 tazza is 1 cup - in Italian. So a serving of 61 cups doesn't sound accurate. I'd calculate it yourself and create a new entry.

Regular potatoes, cut thin, baked in the oven without any oil.

I make an egg casserole with 12 eggs, a package of ham from Aldi, 10 oz oil free hash browns, 1 1/2 cups low-fat cottage cheese, and an onion and bell pepper sautéed in a little oil. Less than 200 calories divided into 8 servings.

I like two slices of low cal bread made as toast with a quarter cup of cottage cheese, sliced bananas, and honey drizzle on top.
-
I almost always make my lunches a duplicate of dinner the night before, even if it means I have to double my dinners.

Congrats to your sister! WW is a good program to learn the foundations of healthy eating; I started on it about a year ago and despite having tried tracking calories for years and years, I'd never had success but very quickly started seeing changes in my body, mood, appetite, and energy levels after I started WW. I'm still…

I eat toast a couple of times a week. I eat the highly processed "low calorie" bread, which tastes just OK, but it's a nice carrier for some peanut butter, jam, or cottage cheese and banana. It's also a quick snack when I'm a bit munchy. My favorite way is two slices with 1/4 cup of low-fat cottage cheese, a sliced banana,…

Last night was brown rice, chicken breast, roasted broccoli and tomatoes, and a bagged mix of roasted root veggies from Trader Joe's drizzled all mixed together and drizzled with pesto. Tonight is french toast and syrup!!

There are other issues for bees as well - beekeepers often bring in their bees from out-of-state to pollinate almond trees. The pay is quite good, and beekeepers in the US are suffering due to the growing presence of fake honey imported from other countries pricing down the market and making it difficult for beekeepers to…

Right now I'm doing classes at my gym which are mostly weights/cardio circuits, about 5 times per week, plus a 30 minute personal training session per week, and one hour-long pole class. I also usually aim to hit 9,000-10,000 steps a day.
-
I'm also very busy - I drive 40 minutes to work, work 8-3 as a teacher, followed by prep time after school for an hour or so, and then usually have other things going on before I head home. I try to make the most of my time by either working out in the morning (I usually get up at 6:00, if I get up at 5:00 for a 5:30 class…

Yes, I was wondering that exactly... A lot of times they have a table selling products. It's so easy, right? Do you workout, spend $5 on a protein bar or shake...
-
How are you doing on protein without adding in the shakes? Without having any kind of protein shake, I'm able to meet my protein goals for the day, and it's honestly not even hard. The only time I really ever have a protein shake is if I do a really early morning workout and need something light to bring up my blood sugar.…
