I had to pick up some stockings today as it was unexpectedly cold and my bare legs were FREEZING! And I could buy a regular tall size rather than plus/curvy and they fit without any problem. So stoked... I haven't been able to comfortably wear regular sizes in such a long time

I had a weekend of social events, but I stayed within my kj limit both days. And I had an amazing piece of cake that a friend had made, but didn't have a second. Previously I would have had about 3 pieces!

I committed to do a half marathon with some friends in November. And then I thought, "that's so far away, why not do the one in July too". And my running has progressed enough to use an intermediate training programme rather than a beginner one. Six months ago I never thought I would be able to do one again.

That sometimes when you push yourself hard on a workout, you can have "bladder issues" until your core gets stronger...

That you have to prioritise yourself to make this work. I have ignored chores and left work on time (when I could have easily stayed late) to squeeze in my daily workout. Because otherwise I will feel cheated, and I need to reinforce the good habits. And so far NO ONE HAS MINDED!

I cleaned out my wardrobe today to get rid of all the clothes that are now too big. I barely have any clothes left! But I gained some old gym gear and lingerie (woot!) that I haven't fitted for years. Work attire could get interesting next week...

Yesterday I went to our floor morning tea, but I didn't eat a single thing. I ate a peach at my desk before going. I also avoided the pizza shout at the end of the day, even though it smelled SO GOOD! I would never have had the control to do that before. So I finished the day under my calorie goal and felt really good…

That you don't lose weight evenly. I have 9kg to go (of 35 total) and it's pretty much all on my belly and hips - the place where I most want to lose it from!

Yep, I've given up on trousers until I'm at goal. I find dresses and skirts so much more forgiving than pants for weight loss.

So, over the last couple of weeks, when I've been out running I have had random cars toot at me and people wave. I'm 99% sure they're not people I know, but I'm not very good at recognising people in a flash as they drive past! My first thought is always "am I having some kind of clothing malfunction?" But nope, not so far…

I went shopping for a new raincoat today. My old one was an XL (the biggest size they stocked) and embarrassingly I had popped all the zips on the pockets when it got too tight... I've been wearing it around because last winter I couldn't bring myself to drop cash on a 2X raincoat that I really don't want to be wearing.…

Invest in some Body Glide ladies!!!! Its the best lubricant for running and other exercise where skin can rub, and it means that my thighs can tolerate running in shorts. You can probably get it online, or in most sports shops. Also helps with under boob chafing and blisters on your feet from rubbing shoes/socks. Its…

Omg yes! This was one of my big goals for losing weight. It feels awesome - congrats!

i have been struggling to visualise how much my body has changed especially around my tummy/hips, so i got out a pair of work pants that was getting a bit snug before I started this process in July, just to see how they would fit now (its been summer, so I have been in dresses for months). I held them up in front of me and…

I agree about meetup if its active in your area. Also join a sports team/club - its a great way to make new friends in your area who love to be active just like you. I guarantee there will be people there of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels.

My NSV this week is that my husband, who is still recovering from hip surgery last August, has started to walk home from the train station with me (a 30min walk) instead of both of us taking the car. I get an extra 30min light exercise 5 days a week, we get to hang out together, and most importantly he is finally able to…

This calculator is awesome! I just realised Im slightly faster than average! Who would have thought! Maybe I need to stop saying I'm slow :D

Had 2 separate people at work mention how good I was looking and how much weight I had lost. Absolutely made my day :)

I had a crazy busy week at work. No real lunch breaks, working late nights (and even through to early morning on Wednesday). Normally that would spell disaster for my food intake, but I managed to eat within my kj goal, even after a mid-morning moment of weakness involving cake and biscuits in the lunchroom on Weds.

I made it through my first strength training session and didn't give up or die! A 30min circuit combining skipping/jump rope and bodyweight moves. Turns out I have no muscle in my arms at all - but the only way is up right?

The other students in my uni class thought I was in my 20s rather than 30s

I went shopping for a dress to wear to my friend's wedding. I had put the shopping trip off for so long I only had one day left when I could buy it, so I was under pressure. As per usual my expectation was to try and find the dress that made me look least awful. I spent all day walking all over town. I had two 'possibles'…

Its a bit tangential, but can I just add the importance on non-food rewards. The odd 'cheat day' is fine for special occasions etc (I just had one for a friends wedding) but if you are using them as a reward for a hard day etc, then you might be setting up a negative feedback loop. As a kid (im now 32) we always got…
