  • I was a food, fat, sugar, alcohol addict. No more. Told myself "stop putting stuff in your mouth that doesn't belong there"
  • It was an eye opener for me to realize the added sugar to pasta marinara sauces so they taste good. No more
  • I dont eat meat but I am not vegan. See my profile and Add me
  • The initial hunger went away after about a week of my most recent plan I started. Drink something if that doesn't handle it eat a low calorie volume snack. Now sometimes I don't even want to eat all my allotment because I'm not hungry
  • I am an office worker so I set mine to sedentary and let my fitbit track my steps
  • Ive been using MFP off and on for several years. Before that I have used a couple of other trackers too. I climbed back on the wagon August 22nd and I'm down 29 pounds. Getting back to the basics is what worked for me in the past and it is now. I will be 62 in December. My spouse passed away last year but my pitty party is…
  • What can you do to increase your activity? Walking adds up. I go take walks on my breaks and lunch at work and go somewhere to walk after work. Even parking way out in the parking lot at a supermarket and walking all the aisles adds up.
  • Get a coleman soft side lunch box cooler and one of those refeezable blocks. Take your food with you. My 99 cent store sells bread for a dollar and cans of tuna 2 for a dollar. One can tuna will make 2 sandwiches. They also sell rubber made take alongs 2 for $1 perfect for home made meals and sandwiches. Ramen is not a…
  • My spouse passed away last year and its been hard for me but little by little I an getting there. I do most of my cooking on the kitchen island. Putting things away keeping it clear makes it more inviting to prepare meals within my plan. I bought a little basket/caddy to put things in like spices I use regularly but don't…
  • I quit eating meat but I am not a vegan. At work when there are potlucks or going out to eat somebody might say oh that's right you're a vegetarian but leave it at that. I just blow it off and eat what I like anyhow.
  • I tried to get as close to vegan as I could but the time, energy and money is not worth it and it did not help with my weight loss. Ethics aside it's my health and how I choose to conduct it that counts to me. I still don't eat meat but do use dairy, egg whites and seafood (sparingly). I cook oil free and eat low fat.…
  • Here's a before picture taken in August this year, yikes.
  • My food record is open. Feel free to add me too :-)
  • I am going for 100 too. I need friends. Will send request. Congrats on your success.
  • Get moving much as you can without injuring yourself and having a set back. I started at 325 and I'm down to 296 now. It was hard to walk and joints painful but with the weight loss and moving I'm up to 5 miles a day now. I haven't started any weight work yet or sports activities that could injure me and cause a setback.…
  • Logging your food. It has been an eye opener for me to see what some foods cost calorie, fat and sugar wise. For several years I have made excuses because I work an office job and been sedentary but that was on me.
  • I FOUND MY ANSWER - If you have linked your MyFitnessPal account to a device or app that measures your total calorie burn (Fitbit, Bodymedia, etc.), check this box to allow negative calorie adjustments from that partner to appear on your exercise diary. Otherwise, only positive adjustments will be allowed. Changes to this…
  • I sync my fitbit tracker to MFP. I used to time and enter my activity (walking) manually in MFP before I got my Fitbit. I figured since I am basically sedentary any activity over and above that is counted. Maybe that's where the adjustment comes into play to back out little trips to the other room etc?
  • Weighing is the most accurate method for me. Sometimes I find that the food values already in the MFP are inaccurate too. I don't always believe my fitbit for activity either haha
  • I've been cutting the starches out of my calorie count too
  • Ive lost almost 10% of my body weight now and weight loss and metabolism have slowed but not stopped. I realize the easy pounds are over but the positive aspects are lowered heart rates and resting pulse. Appetite has lowered too but I must ramp up my exercise to see better results too.
  • I get them at Winco foods bulk section for $1.10 proud and grind my own. Add 1 ounce to my protein shakes
  • I work for a major fortune 100 company. If anybody started in on me about my weight or diet or anything else I would be in touch with HR. I eat a mostly vegetarian diet (not vegan) and my coworkers know I do not eat meat but they have been very respectful. Good luck to you.
  • I am on board with those voting water weight. Alcohol especially always screws that up for me. I cook my own food mostly to cut sodium but it's a battle too. Lots of sodium replacement options out there.
  • I have the Ozeri Pronto Digital Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale. $13.50 on Amazon. I like it because it weighs in oz, Lbs, Grams ML and has a tare function to back out the weight of my container
  • I've lost and gained so much over the years I've lost count. There is a fat me and a skinny me. I like the skinny me and I had my excuses for getting fat time after time. I don't have or will I allow those excuses to control me now. The way I look at it though is all the years I did eat and live healthy gave me an extended…
  • WW is a viable program but I am a calorie counter thanks to MFP. I am a serial eater and eat many food items over and over so food logging is easy. When I make cooked food and put up batches for future use the recipe builder is great to use and easy.
  • I may weigh almost every morning for the heck of it but I only log my weight once or twice a week. It's been a moving target for me as Friday mornings were a good base level day for me but now I am changing to Sunday mornings as it is my one day to sleep in. Here's a funny - I have a digital scale that weighs to a tenth of…
  • If you want to lose weight slow. Get depressed when you plateau etc then go ahead and have twinkie to eat back all that hard work you did today. I do not. Losing and loving it here.
  • HW: 325 CW 300 GW 225 Started 8/22/2017 eating 1200 calories. Now over 10,000+ steps a day on my fitbit per day.
