EAT your exercise calories!! You have to hit the sweet spot by having a reasonable calorie deficit. MFP does the calculation for you and gives you the number you should be NETTING every day. I'm just under 5'11" too. I am new to MFP but am planning on posting before/after pics as soon as I see a little progress. I'm 20 lbs down already so hopefully i'll have progress pics soon! :-)
