  • I've been making a meal from Skinnytaste over the weekend and portioning it out for lunches during the week...these have been a few good ones: http://www.skinnytaste.com/summer-vegetables-with-sausage-and/ http://www.skinnytaste.com/one-pot-cheesy-turkey-taco-chili-mac/ Dinner is typically an easy combo of some sort: fish…
  • @VeryKatie you are soooo cute! Such a sweet little bump :) I hope you are feeling strong and comfortable!
  • @WifiresGettingFit I have no problem sharing, so that's good!! Yes, everything is okay...long story short I had a complex migraine that presented like a stroke (droopy left side of face and body, couldn't talk/focus, immediate blurred vision etc). I had been on a plane that morning, so the EMTs & doctors initially thought,…
  • I stopped taking the pill last May. I had a health scare and had to go to the ER, and the doctors assumed that I had a blood clot due to birth control pills (this was not the actual case, but it freaked me out.) I had already wanted to go off of the pill for other reasons, so this was just the final straw for me. I was on…

  • Using Skinnytaste.com has been a great tool for me. Her recipes are pretty easy and she has a large variety of options so there should be plenty of options for you. I love to make a soup/casserole on the weekends and then portion it out for my lunches during the week.
  • Woohoo get it @Kirstie155!!! Congrats on that under 200 mark, very exciting! I actually forced myself to do a 30 Day Shred workout this morning since I have today off of work. It kicked my butt, but felt really good to sweat a little bit. I need to make an exercise plan and stick with it. How's everyone else doing?!
  • 1 tbsp of hummus and 85 grams of carrots comes in under 100 1 cheese stick mini larabars - all are right around 100 as long as you are weighing out your portion, you can make almost any snack come in around 100.
  • If you set your goal to lose 1 pound a week and log faithfully until your wedding you can lose about 30 pounds between now and then! I am trying to lose 30 pounds by my 30th birthday in August so you got this! Getting down to 135-140 safely is probably a little bit of a stretch.
  • I was down another pound this week: Jan 3 - 176.5 Jan 6 - 174 Jan 13 - 173 I've been logging faithfully and sticking to Dry January...need to get some exercise in. How's everyone else doing?

  • Awesome @Kirstie155 way to go! Same here that I started January up from holiday indulgences, but I was down 2.5lbs last week! Jan 3 - 176.5 Jan 6 - 174 I also did a yoga DVD this weekend, which I haven't done in a long time (hello soreness) and tracked my whole weekend (the good and the bad)! How's everyone else doing so…
  • I love skinnytaste.com

  • @Kirstie155 exercise for me right now is mainly walking. I have pretty long days; I live in the Chicago suburbs and work downtown, so I spend nearly 3 hours a day commuting. By the time I get home at night, especially being so dark and cold right now, the last thing I want to do is exercise! I have different DVDs that I…
  • I turn 30 in August, so I am hoping to lose 30 pounds by my 30th birthday! In January, my goal is to lose 5 pounds, and get back into a regular routine of logging every day and trying to figure out an exercise routine. Jan 3 - 176.5 end of Jan - 171.5 @VeryKatie wow I really hope you get that note too! Those are crazy…

  • Skinnytaste.com!
  • I fluxuate eating veg from time to time...currently I am eating that way. Some greek yogurt brands have a lot of protein (my current favorite is Siggi's, always more protein than sugar). I have hummus & veggies, nuts, cheese, beans, avocado etc to make sure I'm getting enough protein and feeling satiated. I add chia seeds…
  • I usually pick 3-4 recipes to make for dinner per week, make a shopping list, and buy the ingredients for these recipes. I cook for myself & my husband and plan enough for leftovers. That way I have 3-4 dinners & lunches already planned for the week. I keep plenty of salad stuff on hand as well to fill the gaps on days I…
  • I agree with a lot of the above suggestions! I do almost all of the grocery shopping, meal planning, and cooking for myself and my husband (who is not counting calories). I worry about portions for myself and he eats what he wants. If he's still hungry after a meal, he can have seconds, he can have a salad, yogurt, or…
  • Check out Skinnytaste.com! She has tons of recipes, almost all under 500 calories for a serving. I've had a lot of success with her site!
  • I'm probably in the minority here, but I LOVE the Lemon ones! And as previously mentioned by a few people, the white fudge covered ones that are out around the holidays!
  • Have you tried pre-logging what fast food items you want and then determining if it fits into your goals for the day? If so, great! If not, maybe you can adjust the items you'd like or make the decision to not have fast food that day.
  • Use the Recipe tool! You can enter all of your ingredients & the number of servings to calculate the nutrition. You can also input recipes from websites.
  • I've been using a lot of Skinnytaste.com's recipes lately. She focuses on lower calorie meals, most seem to be under 400 cals per serving. I also meal plan before I go grocery shopping for the week, and try to make at least 1 pot of soup or a casserole so that I have easy leftovers for lunch/dinners. Here are a few I've…
