  • I received a Charge HR from my parents (early Christmas present!). I'm loving the first 2 days so far, its been fun to explore the website & app. And the data...I love all the data!!
  • I've had this same question many times, but never asked! What about the entries that differentiate bone-out? I sometimes assumed that meant the other listed USDA entries included the bone in. I typically weigh entire weight of the drumstick, thigh, etc & then shave off a an ounce. I never thought to weigh, eat, weigh just…
  • I struggle to get enough fiber & have always been "irregular". I try different ways to get more fiber into my diet, but it doesn't significantly change the 'outcome', even with 40g fiber a day. Im still trying though...on somedays i add a LiquidFiber supplement. Ive also been eating FiberOne 90-calorie trests. Foods that…
  • I don't typically follow set recipes, I really like to create my own dishes & changes every time! But variations on some of these ideas are great: Chicken piccata Chicken provencal Chicken enchilada soup Crockpot salsa chicken Variations on roasted chicken (garlic lemon; sweet spicy soy; herbed chicken) Oven roasted…
  • I use the Libra app & weigh daily. It allows me to see the small daily fluctuations. And I'm okay with that. Small up & downs don't concern me as much as the nice bright red trendline going down! There are other similar apps users may mention that are good for weight tracking. If seeing gains and losses daily is stressful…
  • Today may be my laziest of lazy days! 223 steps today, according to my phone. I've stayed in my PJs, inside all day. I don't carry my phone with me. I possibly actually walked/moved around 1-2k, tops. I cooked, cleaned, worked on presents, watched movies and relaxed. Ive felt like I may be catching something, scratchy…
  • When you say weigh your food, how exactly do you do it? How would I know this much amount I should be eating? [/quote] Start with what a standard serving size is. Carrots: 3 ounces. Weigh 3 ounces worth of carrots on the scale; eat that. If you want, double it. Log it accurately. With other fruits or veggies, weigh it…
  • @christinev297 I'm so glad you tried it and tweaked it to suit you. It's an easy & simple one to experiment with. The additional helpings are good for several days in the fridge. This thread made me hungry for it, so I revisited mine as well, made a batch with Eggnog and yogurt ....Mmmm. So holiday-creamy-in-a-cup!! I…
  • I count it usually. I drink A LOT of tea. Enjoy!
  • Chia is actually a higher calorie food for what you get. Typically a "serving" is 1 tablespoon, or approx 60-90cal. Very rough/approximates: 1 tablespoon = 1/2 ounce = 14 g (Please take these as only rough estimates!!) For most recipes, you are adding in 1/3-1/2 CUP, which is roughly 71 g. That's around 420-460 cal,…
  • @arijacks80 -- have you tried a trend weight app? I use Libra app. Log in my weight every morning (same time/routine). It's great to be aware of the daily fluctuations, but also to see the downwards trend & know you're working in the right direction. Most days are down/even, but there are days I'm up, and it doesn't bother…
  • Yep, this for me. I'm a behavior analyst & speech therapist...I love data, graphs, and trends. I use Libra app for daily morning weigh-ins and I am comfortable with the fluctuations. It's helped me adjust some of my habits over the past month I've been using it.
  • Thanks so much for your response. I don't feel I am in serious danger of significantly undereatingundereating, as this hasnt been a long term problem. I'm usually pretty good with my calorie goals, sometimes adjust up a few hundred for a couple weekends, eat back some exercise calories, etc. When I'm under my targets, I'm…
  • I've had this a lot recently over the past month; I feel like some days I have to force myself to eat because I'm just not hungry. Im glad I found this thread! Would you all recommend making ourselves eat a snack or drink juice/caloric drink, to add calories & nutrients? Or if we are low on calories by the end of the day,…
  • Amazing progress over the past 6 months!!
  • ^^ Yep, this!! I'm loving Fitness Blender. Or YouTube search for what you want. I was reminded today on another thread about Taebo. Whether it's more cardio, walking routines, aerobics/dance, Taebo or kick boxing or weights/strength, YouTube will have free videos! I'm in similar boat as CO weather is getting chilly for my…
  • Here's a site I've been checking out, thinking about doing something similar. Might be useful for races and such http://marathons.ahotu.com/calendar/half-marathon/usa/walk
  • Thanks for the reminder!! I also used to love Taebo! I've also recently taken to YouTube for a new challenge (exercise routines at home), and really been enjoying trying different YouTube channel & routines. I'm a fan of Fitness Blender, though it's definitely has "quieter" routines that may bore or not be exciting for…
  • I just googled "gym routines for women" Here's some links: ((you could find one of these you like, and follow it on your phone in the gym!)). http://www.gymaholic.co/articles/workouts/uoJB62Ob/women-workout-routine http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/best-workout-for-your-body-type…
  • I agree with YouTube. There are many great free routines available. I personally like Fitness Blender on YouTube. Many videos, some very basic, others target specific areas, etc. Check it out!! Some gyms have a "circuit" area, where there's 4-5 machines set up specifically to do a circuit train-- you can do as many reps or…
  • I'm the oldest so far at 33...ugh, 34 (I'm stuck at always writing 33!)! 5'3.5", trying to lose around 30 lbs. Feel free to add me!
  • I'm 5'4", 161lbs at Monday weigh in. My current cal goal is 1360, which I can usually stay within. I'm averaging approx .5-.75 lb loss a week. Slow, but steady & I don't want to go lower in my cals. I'm a hungry girl!!
  • Hi, I'd love to do this challenge! Unfortunately I cannot access Google spreadsheets (cannot download it, I already tried, etc)...can we start a thread specifically asking people to help post our numbers? I don't want to be a nuisance to anyone, but if I can post my numbers & someone can add to spreadsheet, that'd be…
  • I saw you posted its full...but if you open more spots, I'd love to join in! Thank you
  • I've also found dinner to be my largest meal with most calories. I sometimes skip breakfast, aside from tea & vitamins. I'm along with others who state that eating breakfast seems to make me hungrier all day, or at least hungrier earlier in the day. Personal preference really; do what works best for your schedule & eating…
  • Yes, you can manually adjust goals. Go under the menu for Goals, then Nutrition Goals, and you'll see Calories & Macro adjustments. You manually enter your cal target here, but it will reset/change your other goals. I change my target goals as I'm losing or gaining weight and adjust accordingly.
  • I think you've gotten some great advice here from everyone. I'd just add: you're doing awesome! Seems like you are very committed to doing it right, asking for help/support, and making changes to daily habits. Good luck, follow their advice & keep it up!!
  • Congratulations, that's great! I'm trying for 160 by end of October!
  • Thanks for these links! Nerd fitness is new to me but I really liked the site. Appreciate it!
  • Hey, I started about where you are over the summer. 175 was also my highest weight. It's been a few months for me to drop my first 15lbs, I've taken it pretty slow. I've focused mainly on calorie deficits, healthier eating, smaller portions,...not a whole lot of serious exercise, though I do get some work outs in. I've…
