  • I'm considering NOT doing my workout today because my new routine is mostly centred around the free-weights area. My comfortable corner is downstairs or at best the opposite end of the upper floor. I really think a big mac and fries would help.
  • This too. People making "eww" noises at heathly food choices, getting annoyed at you going to the gym late at night, pulling faces at the exercise routine they just asked you to tell them about, and saying your choices are wrong, you're wrong - what you're doing isn't benefitting you, you must be starving yourself. and the…
  • I always had collarbones and hip bones, so always sort of disregarded stories of people who discover them - I thought 'I'll never have that discovery to look forward to'. But I'm shocked at how much they stick out now I've lost a little weight!!
  • A client gave me a cadbury's creme egg. It's still in my bag.
  • One day you WILL find the perfect bikini. It WILL be half price. It WILL be available in a range of sizes. You will never be able to have that bikini because you don't know what size you're going to need the next time you have the cance to wear it. :'( On the flipside, there's looking forward to just how great bikini…
  • Oh my gods ! No way! I use mine for steaming my veg - just chuck them in a bowl with a tbsp of water, cover with cling film and microwave for about a minute (depending on what veg you have) Too easy!! Going to try using it for sweet potato with cinnamon for my post workout feed later too. Can't wait!
  • My NSV - My Mum commented today that I needed to stop losing weight. I'm actually still in the overweight category according to BMI and BF%. Funny, this doesn't feel like a victory. I was quite upset by it. :(
  • I feel nervous going into the gym. I still feel intimidated in there. I would even if it was empty. I'm working on overcoming it. Most steps are just "suck it up and get over yourself" but I take time in between to get comfortable with one routine before I take a step outside of my comfort zone. My goal at the moment is to…
  • Thanks. I'm off to McDonald's to eat myself into an early grave.
  • I'm finding that the more protein I eat the less hungry I am and the more weight I lose. I try to eat more protein on strength days (but still can't usually get enough) and find both my body fat and weight have dropped the next morning. Wether that's the protein or the training I'm not sure. Either way I like it.
  • I just bent down to try to touch my tors and realised, not only can I touch my toes, but I can get the palms of my hands flat on the floor!
  • Ok, I think my belt is stretching. I had to adjust it again yesterday and again this morning. I'll take it though - it's the only thing I can see changing.
  • It's snowing and windy where I am, and the roads are wet and horrid but I still cycled to work. Today I'm grateful for waterproofs. I'd be in serious trouble without them this morning.
  • I treat myself to a tall, skinny latte with sugarfree caramel every Monday. Somehow it tastes better once a week than it did when I had it multiple times every day. Plus, the more I have the more I want.
  • A colleague said I'm looking very svelte since I joined the gym. He hears me complaining about aching muscles and gym weirdos all the time though so he doesn't really count.
  • Today I'm going to take extra care with the refined sugar and make sure I drink lots of water. Today is a no cardio day so I will remember that I have fewer calories to play with. I'll do bodyweight exercises at my guide hall after the kids have gone home and I will look forward to my piece of cod from the chip shop. (I…
  • The scale went up this morning so I'd like to remind myself that I had to adjust my belt to make it smaller a couple of days ago, my riding gaiters are getting easier and easier to fasten (they're supposed to be difficult to zip up so time for new ones soon) and I flexed a bicep in the mirror this morning, not really…
  • Don't really have a short term goal. I'm taking it day by day. My medium term goal is to get down to 20% body fat, by the end of this year. Long term is to stay at a healthy body fat, maintain a weight where I can ride the type of horses I want to ride and eat consciously for the rest of my life.
  • That's awesome congrats! On to ultras next??
  • Running at 11, hoping my sister gets her butt out of bed cause she wanted to come out too. Then a riding lesson at 1.30 - jumping with my friend's very excitable pony, so should be pretty intense. If I've got time after that I hope to get half an hours swimming in too. I'll probably cycle around 10 miles today for…
  • TBH, I hate numbers too. I've started to weigh SOME of my food out of curiosity but I certainly don't track all my food and exercise - the levels of crazy it would drive me to are just not worth the extra weight loss. Instead, I try to eat consciously - know roughly what I'm eating and why, and be sure that the food has…
  • be careful with using American trackers for UK foods - Don't forget there will be nutritional and probably size differences - whenever I've been to the US, portions have been huge compared to here and the ingredients are often different because there are differences in what we/they are and aren't allowed to put into food.
  • Yeah, i get that some people think it's gross. That's why I said it's weird. Doesn't do us any harm though. I had a friend who would take bites out of what we call a "likit" - a large chunk of flavoured, refined sugar designed to be hung in the horse's stable for them to lick and play with - like a horsey lollipop. Only…
  • Not a combination but certainly weird. When I started feeding my horse a certain kind of mix, my friend taught me to pick the "black bits" out of the mix because they're yummy. Some mixes also contain "not black bits" which look and taste like sugar puffs. Now we have a farm full of people who go will root through their…
  • You look great! congratulations. Keep going! B)
  • Thanks hill. That's sort of what I thought but didn't know if the long rest in between would negate any gains I did make. :)
  • I think you misunderstood me. I have fixed commitments on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday meaning I can't get to the gym on those days at all - so the only four days I CAN get to the gym happen to be consecutive. In asking how I can still work a strength training regimen into those four days. I can't change the four days.…
  • Ultimately my goal is to do it. Because it's good, I think I'll enjoy it and it'll benefit my other sports. Unfortunately, I can't change my days. I have three days in the middle of the week taken up with other things which keep me from straight after work, until long after the gym closes, so I can't do 2+2. Otherwise I'd…
  • You've just reminded me that it's been two weeks since I last visited my favourite sweet shop. I used to spend up to £10 on sweets with the intention of keeping them under my desk to eat over the rest of the month. More often than not I'd be back the next day for another lot until my money ran out. Now I've thought about…
  • This goes for everything, not just running: 1)most people are too wrapped up in their own tiny minds to give two hoots about what you're doing. 2)some will notice, some will laugh. Chances are you'll never them again, or will never speak to them anyway. What do their opinions matter? They will have forgotten you in five…
