Knee pain from walking is something you should see a physiotherapist about.

http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards.html Strength standards for women are lower than they are for men, even at the same weights. I'm not sure why, but it is what it is. That doesn't mean you can't break the mould!

My gym has a policy that you have to wear shoes that encase your whole foot for safety/hygeine reasons. If you accidentally kick a piece of equipment, or drop a weight on your foot, the shoe will at least stop you from bleeding all over everything.

I was also going to suggest swimming. It's full body against resistance. Start before it gets too cold!

I'm against flu shots because the banana industry uses them to inject you with tiny nanobots that control your thinking and makes you (unless you're a non responder, there are a few) want to buy bananas. They run out of batteries every year which is why you have to get another one every year. They say it's because it's…

This is a really good deadlift tutorial, follow that. I wouldn't necessarily rely on the biggest guy in the gym to teach you how to deadlift, because his deadlift may look like poo. Take the bar from whereever you have to. Squats need a bar, bench press needs a bar, deadlifts need a bar, the bar goes to whoever grabs it…

I'm seconding everything that @Chieflrg said, particularly the looking down (say 4ft in front of your feet, keeping your eyes there the entire squat). Since you're low bar squatting, I recommend that you buy and read "Starting Strength: Basic Barbell Training" by Mark Rippetoe. It's very useful when it comes to squat form.

First step is to follow a structured training program. I assume that you aren't following one, as I am not aware of any that take 2.5 hours per day 7 days a week. Please correct me if I am wrong. See: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10332083/which-lifting-program-is-the-best-for-you/p1 Following an…

It's most important to be happy with yourself and your appearance, but I both tailor my suits and lift heavy things.

That's true, and also the best of gifs.

I think you're being weird again

What does "very little weight loss" mean? How much weight have you lost over the last 5 weeks? Have you been tracking your calories?
-
This is definitely the case. Many old guys have lived long enough to be comfortable in their bodies. I can't be mad about that. EDIT: Also many old guys go to the rec centre/gym specifically to socialise, and don't have jobs. There's no rush! When I'm old I'm going to helicopter my johnson around the locker room while…

I agree that its intimidating, but I've always found that after a week or so everything feels fine. You just have to get over that first peak, and it's all down hill from there :)

a. Your or MFP's estimate of your maintenance calories is too high b. You have understated the calories you ate (wrong entries in the database, incorrect estimates of portion sizes) c. You have overstated calories burned through exercise d. For some reason (e.g. change in diet, change in exercise) your body is retaining…

Can you do a good form squat with just the bar on your back + concentrating on good movement patterns, or is this an issue that arises at every weight? Im asking because if you can achieve good form at lower weights, maybe the answer is as simple as reducing your weight and only progressing when you are able to achieve…

She means she knows that you facebook stalk her and she is mad.

Sometimes less is more. You get big and strong by eating, lifting and recovering from lifting. I'm not sure that it's necessary or beneficial to lift 5 to 6 days per week, 4 days is fine if the 4 days follow a well designed program.

Pro tip - weigh in the morning, then when or if you need to go later in the day, take a dump on a scale and subtract it from your morning weight. Log at the end of the day! Hope this helps!

Your legs look like normal legs to me :#

Tens of thousands of hands have touched every single surface in the gym. How many of them do you think forgot to wash their hands after visiting the bathroom? Everything washes off in the shower, not worth worrying about :)

I've never wiped down a dumbbell or seen someone wipe down a dumbbell.

FYI squat in "squat rack" is actually an acronym that stands for: Squat Qench press Uverhead press Any pull up variation (when it's not busy) Teadlifts and rack pulls

Do you enjoy it? Do you have any strength and conditioning related goals that you are working towards? Do you have a structured work out program that requires you to lift on days other than PT days?

Lactose intolerance is driven by your body underproducing the lactase enzyme (which is found in the small intestine) that your body needs to break down lactose. When your body can't break down lactose, you may experience bloading, cramps etc. You can buy lactase pills to take when you eat dairy (I use something called…

The formulas work well enough for internal benchmarking - for me (a guy) a 5rm to 1rm ratio of 0.89:1.00 is pretty close. Note that your 1x5rm is likely to be higher than your 5x5rm.

It sounds like you're going to take up playing Destiny so that you can monitor your boyfriend online. That's red flag level stuff for a lot of guys.

The Way of Kings was my hands down favourite book for a long time, I read it twice back to back as soon as it came out. But didn't you find that the tone of the books changed completely in Words of Radiance? The main characters started sounding like 90s teenagers (they probably are teenagers, but they didn't sound it in…
