I do something like 15/9 in addition to the other work I do on calorie restriction. I use an app called Zero which tracks fasting and non fasting hours per day -- very simple for me to incorporate a smaller eating window this way. Works for me at least -- I love the feeling of not eating until later in the day!

I was on a doctor mandated 900 calories a day for three months -- I just added an extra banana each day to keep MFP from scolding me :) MFP is set up this way for a very good reason -- to discourage people with eating disorders. If you have a legitimate, medically-supervised reason for having a lower than recommended…

Hello, all! I had 150 pounds to lose when I started, I'm down almost 70 now. New friends always welcome!

I lost 65 pounds and went from a 24/26 (3 or 4x) to 20/22 (2X)

Hey there! I'm in Nova Scotia, so not far from you :)

Hello! Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. Tracking with MFP is a great tool for mindfulness around eating :) I used it a few years ago successfully, then gained the weight back. I started again at the end of January this year at 322 in a medical weight loss program in Halifax. I've lost almost 60 pounds so far, and know…

I love to do a souvlaki marinade on chicken breasts -- I love the intense flavours! Olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper, lemon juice and dried oregano -- let the chicken breasts marinate in it for a while then broil or bake (my fave is to bake in a convection oven :))

I second an averaging app -- Libra for Android or Happy Scale for iOS. Makes a huge difference to me -- now I'm collecting data instead of being obsessive :)

You have my heartfelt understanding! I would practice a mindfulness technique until it passes. It will pass :)

I walked 3700 steps yesterday. A few months ago I had to be wheeled through an airport. I am SO HAPPY!

I'm in!

The American Optifast has way too much sugar. The Canadian government wouldn't let them sell that stuff here, so our version is much, much lower in sugar :)

I am craving Souvlaki Chicken Breasts right now. Marinate chicken breasts in olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano and some lemon juice. I bake them at 400F in a convection oven for 10 minutes, flip then, bake for 15 minutes more -- they are juicy and full of flavour! Argh! I want one!

I started at 322 and am really noticing a change now at 295, after 27 pounds. There's less of my stomach, my face looks a little leaner, too.

Are you currently losing weight tracking in a generalized way? If not, and if you want to lose weight, then you may have to change. Yeah, it's about being honest with yourself. You can't change your weight if you can't face what you're putting in your body. You may not be ready for that yet. But you have to be willing to…

I believe we all have to tailor our WOE to us and our circumstances/psychology/history with food. It's impossible to dictate to another adult human being how to do this. You're in this for the long term -- you need to find a system that works for you for the rest of your life -- and it may take some time. You need to…

I think it's true for quite a few people, it's certainly true for me, and it took me a long time to realize it! You might consider looking into a variant of intermittent fasting -- one common variant is to have two substantial meals in an eight hour window (say noon to 8 pm) and fast the rest of the time.

In Canada it's different, too -- we just have the chocolate and vanilla shake powders :)

I'm on my second day of Optifast 900 -- managed by the Partners for Healthier Weight team out of QEII hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Loving it so far! We had three weeks at 1200 calories and are now starting 12 weeks of Optifast 900. We don't have access to the range of Optifast items that are offered in other parts of…
