It’s not impossible but not very common without help. Are you open to weight loss surgery? (Please do not take offense). I was closed to the idea myself for a very long time but it became harder and harder for me to lose weight without some help. Had gastric sleeve 6/2015 and do not regret it one bit.

I was thinking of doing a modified version myself. Doing protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and a protein meal for dinner (maybe w some veggies)

Could you tell us more about your plan? I'm thinking of moving towards a vegan diet...

Since purée foods aren't very dense it may be harder to feel the restriction. Stick to your surgeons guidelines for the amount of food you should be eating. Mine was 1/4 cup or 2 oz at a meal. Once you go to regular foods it will be easier to feel the restriction.

Awesome transformation. I had a similar start weight and have Similar goals. How long did it take you to get down to where you are now?
-
1.What's your goal weight. Not completely sure as I've had weight issues since I was a kid. Ideally between 125-135 but if I feel good at 140 I'm fine w that 2.Why did you choose that goal weight. Rough estimate using the stupid BMI charts for a reference point 3.Do you have more than 1 goal weight. First mini goal of 199-…

Lol know the feeling... You'll do great! Just envision a smaller number on the scale and stay positive :) it really does help. Plus of course the effort you put into it.
-
You're doing great! Keep up the good work!

I would say be careful... Consider getting evaluated by an orthopedist. I worked through shoulder pain and turns out I have tendinitis with a small partial tear of my rotator cuff. Doing physical therapy now to prevent further injury. Ice is your friend. Try icing it a lot.

See what works for you. You want to do something that you can sustain for life. Over the past 11 weeks I've lost 41lbs with eating primarily unprocessed foods (I still have some but not in the amount that I did before) and staying within my calorie budget. Prior to that I was following CICO but didn't focus on "clean…

2.1 lbs since last Thursday's weight :)

Prior to surgery I was a carboholic. It was difficult for me to have the "willpower" like I used to when I lost a lot of weight before surgery. (60 lbs, then gained. Then 90lbs and gained). Before surgery I contemplated having the bypass over the sleeve because I thought, "well if I have a hard time not eating carbs now,…

A great unflavored protein powder is Genepro, found on Amazon. The serving size is about a tablespoon and gives 30g protein and I think only 1-2g carbs I also use inspire protein powder from bariatriceating.com They have many flavors as well as unflavored. Around 90-100 cals w 20 G protein and 1-3 grams carbs. Just caution…

Love it!

You look fabulous! Congrats!!

I've had a lot of practice and failures with just the CICO alone. I found what works for me and I believe that there's more to it than a calorie deficit. I am amazed at how controversial this issue is on here.
-
If sugar doesn't matter than why would Harvard suggest limiting refined grains? CICO is one part of the weight loss equation.

You obviously haven't had a course in research. I would argue that it is a reputable source given the authors credentials as well as their sources come from peer reviewed journals including randomized controlled studies; what we know to be evidence based. They aren't saying fructose from naturally occurring foods are "bad"…

There is a difference between fructose naturally occurring vs manmade HFCS http://m.ajcn.nutrition.org/content/86/4/895.full

The following is from http://authoritynutrition.com/6-reasons-why-a-calorie-is-not-a-calorie/ "The two main simple sugars in the diet are glucose and fructose. These two seem almost identical. They have the same chemical formula and weigh the exact same. But to your body, the two are completely different (2). Glucose can…

Everyone is different and you will have to play around to find what works for you. Best place to start is be aware of portion sizes. Get measuring cups, spoons and a food scale. Make sure you're drinking enough water- at least 64 oz. As far as foods go; stay away from processed foods. Stick to a balanced diet w veggies,…
