Wow, I'm surprised at this thread. I love eating out at our local Indian, it's great for this woe. They specialise in Nepalese food so not sure if that may make a difference. They have loads of tandoori options, different meats, shashlick, mixed grills etc Loads of suitable veggie side dishes too, sag paneer, various…

I use Optima, it was on special offer in our local health food shop. It has a very subtle taste of coconut, if you cook something bland like scrambled egg you'll taste it but something strong like chorizo and you won't.

I use it :) I found it very useful in the early days when still trying to get my head round proportions of fat/protein etc The recommended portions sizes basically put you onto a keto diet. Have to admit though that I've not followed a lot of the more fiddly stuff, carb ladder, ongoing weight loss, pre-maintenance etc etc.…

@totaloblivia, years ago when I was <whispers> eating low fat, I used to make 'ice cream' by blending low fat yoghurt with frozen fruit. Just dumped in a food processor and whizzed up, it made a very passable ice cream. I bet doing the same with frozen raspberries and clotted cream would be amazing.

Agree with this. 2 weeks is quite a short time. I've been keto for 3 months now and have no problems exercising - in fact I've never felt fitter!

GingerGale has some good advice I think. I find I have to count calories to lose weight and 2,000 sounds like a lot. I'm more like 1300 - 1500 although I am a few inches shorter than you. 1600 sounds reasonable. I also like to drink wine and after extensive research (!) with the scales and ketostix have discovered that…

Glad I'm not the only one! I've had a few incidents of selecting the wrong avocado option and nearly fainting at the state of my macros! :D

I agree with a lot of what Dragonwolf says. As a UK user, MFP can be a pain because so many database entries are American and the nutritional values are different. I have to be very careful to check the carb values of the entry I'm using. Once I'm happy that it's accurate it goes into the favourites list, or I save it as a…

I started low carbing about 3 years ago following a programme which didn't involve any counting, weighing or measuring, just eating low carb foods. It didn't work for me, I made my portions too large and ate too much dairy. I didn't lose a thing. I re-started on Atkins on 5th Jan this year following their portion size…

Interesting thread. I have a couple of allotments (I'm in the UK, not sure if you have anything similar in the US?) and this year have completely re-thought what I'm growing so fit in with my new keto diet. I've had to abandon sweetcorn, borlotti beans and pumpkins and now will be embracing more of the green leafy stuff,…

I feel the same (especially about the wine!) so grateful to have found this WOE.

I've just discovered these 'wraps', really tasty and work well in a lunch box. https://lowcarbnotnocarb.wordpress.com/2010/07/05/low-carb-lunchbox-its-the-ham-and-cheese-roll/
