If you don't use the 1 gram = 1 serving technique i suggest you enter in a parenthesis and state how many grams are in one serving as part of the title. That I know there's no way to go back in and check this out, so if you forget later on you're SOL... (speaking from experience lol)

32 here.. currently reverse-dieting looking to start cutting next spring. Could always use friends and encouragement!

+1 on the "had to quit buying it camp". Just not worth wasting 200 calories per serving when I could have some much more filling instead ... but that's just me
-
Going to have to disagree with this. If you really are working out as intensely as you say, you'll need the carbs to fuel you through. Can you provide stats on body fat% and goals?
-
I wouldn't worry about it, and you're doing the right thing not eating back exercise. I do understand the psychological impact of "going red" lol .. One night out with friends isn't going to kill you. Enjoy your off night every once in a blue moon

Yep. 40ish pounds down, now that I look like I lift I get treated like a "bro". It's kind of annoying considering the fact I've always embraced music art and culture, not football and beer.

Don't be too hard on yourself man, you've made great progress so far. Get on a good strength building program and you'll hit your goals in no time. I'm 5'10" as well, and at a healthy body fat (15-20%) 180-190s will have you looking great man. Keep up the hard work and go hit the weights to get yourself a solid foundation…

Yea basically. And what I mean earlier- people throw around the word recomp as if it's an actual thing and the write-ups on the topic are based on shortly science and half-truths. Better to just be straight forward about it, bulk and put some lean mass on then cut down to your desired level of lean-ness (subjective).
-
Technically there's no such thing as a "recomp", you're either in an anabolic state or a catabolic state and that's it. Some people will alternate between these two states and over time a net effect of "gaining muscle and losing fat". My recommendation to you, and the best cure for "skinny-fat" in general is to start…

Nice man. If you're been at it long, consider some refeeds or a few weeks of reverse dieting to kick start the fat burning process again incase you plateau. Great progress!

Awesome!

331 day streak here. It's more habit now than anything else at this point. Helps keep track of things tho

For the purpose of "losing weight" and fat in general - then thermodynamics dictates calories is the most important thing. For the purpose of body composition and keeping as much muscle and lean body mass as possible while leaning out, macros and adequate protein intake are critical. So count your calories, and track your…

Lol at some of the posts on here... OP, your problem is not math, or MFP, or even logic for that matter. Your problem is biochemistry and thermodynamics. You can NOT lose that much *fat* that quick. You think you're burning 1000cal per day at the gym doing what sound like casual gym sessions? Sure maybe for a day or two.…

Hi! Few questions, how long have you been lifting and How intensely do you lift? Do you know your body fat %? Overall it's generally accepted that physiologically you can't build muscle and lose fat simultaneously for any prolonged period of time without supplementing hormones and peptides ("steroids"). Naturally, you can…

Carpe the damn diem. Go have fun, enjoy yourself and don't stress too much about your tracking while traveling. Enter the things you can guess or scan, and don't worry about the rest. Most of all do not let it take away from your experiences there. Life above all ;)

Hi everyone - real pharmacist here (PharmD) and while I haven't read the entire discussion, I saw a few posts that were really alarming. First of all "Just quit" - DO NOT stop taking them abruptly. If you want to switch or discontinue the meds, talk to one of us about how to taper off of them, and as always with the…
