This is probably why I don't see anything wrong with other people's photos even when they say they look huge. I've seen them in real life and I know what they REALLY look like, so whatever I see in a photo of them doesn't change my perception on them. Sadly, we're our own worst critics.

I lean towards agreeing to be honest! It was so tempting to untag myself in this photo, but I keep telling myself that I'm going to want something to compare my 'after' body to post-weight loss so I better keep it tagged!

Perfect, thank you!

Haha, I usually do take it as a compliment. It's nice to know that even if the number on the scale is a bit much for my height, at least it isn't obvious to other people, but it does tempt me to relax the diet sometimes. However, I DO know I'm overweight, so I won't let that stop me from trying to get to a healthy weight…

CACKLING

Is this a joke?
-
Nah. As long as bits aren't on show wear what's comfortable for you to work out in.

Oh my God these sounds great. I'm learning to cook at the moment so I'm taking note of all the tips I'm getting lol! Thanks! Guilty! I'm really forgetful about water. I think I'm going to have to set a reminder on my phone to go to the water cooler.

Would love to go home, but I dont see anyone being particularly impressed that I went home over a cold no matter nasty it felt. I'm ridiculous though. I can power through tummy bugs and have gone out to a bar with food poisoning, but a cold will absolutely destroy me lol!

A lot of folks seem to be advising eating at maintenance. I've already prepped a low-cal dinner and logged it, so I had a bit more of a substantial lunch and I'll pick at some sunflower seeds to make up calories. Thanks for the food suggestions and advice!

I actually can't believe how rude people are sometimes. That's elementary school behaviour.
-
Lots of tasty-sounding suggestions so far - thanks guys!

I don't really have room for them in my calorie allowance unless I skip a meal somewhere. The 1200 calorie allowance doesn't really leave much wiggle room, although I'm only starting out so I probably still have a lot of calorie-saving tricks to learn (still discovering low cal alternatives to things etc)

I just started last week and I think I'll weigh in weekly. First weigh-in is tomorrow. Any more than weekly and I think a change could be anything from water weight to a big dinner you had the day before.

Baha I wish I could like this.

This is great too because it'll make her feel extra special and pretty (especially those last two!!!) and might actually make her want to get more of that feeling by improving her physique. Sometimes there's nothing like realising you're a desirable, great-looking lady to make yourself want to become even MORE desirable…

It'll be hard for her to leave her comfort zone. I'm very early on in my attempts to lose weight and the hardest thing I've found is that eating healthy and cutting calories (I won't be going out running til the nights get lighter) was uncomfortable. I was used to stodgy comfort food, chocolate, and wine, and that was…

I have those horrible realisations in the middle of the night too. When you're lying in bed and your fat is just everywhere and you have time to notice it and ugh. You lie on your side and notice how big your tummy is etc. Not nice. I'll send you a request. We can do it!

I take citalopram, and weirdly I had pretty much zero appetite for about the first three weeks of using it and then suddenly... EAT ALL THE THINGS. I was just constantly hungry.

mostly around the eyes, but... alyson hannigan!

Good job! I turned down biscuits after dinner at my mum's house on Wednesday!
-
Not at all, I know people who are just like that. I just don't want to end up as one of them!
-
Haha it really is nothing. I feel like I'm about to start climbing a mountain!

I think I get what you're saying although other people don't seem to. People who knew you as a person and knew you to be interesting, smart, funny, or whatever your positive traits are, weren't interested in dating you before. Now, suddenly because you're a bit thinner, you're getting asked out by those same people. I…

Belly fat busters are a myth, sadly. You can only lose weight in your tummy If you're losing it everywhere else too.

The advice on this thread has been really encouraging, and so has looking at the Success Stories board, so I want to thank everyone for contributing to this thread. I it's interesting to read from the people who still feel like they're their old size. It must be hard to adjust to not being what you spent so long expecting…

Woohoo, nerd thread!! I'm mostly a gaming nerd, but I also love sci fi and superhero movies.

Haha, it doesn't help that I buy £7 ones from Sainsbury's! They're cheap rubbish but the fit is perfect for me lol.

I'm gonna be naughty and tell you to just enjoy the day and hang the calories! It's just one day, so take it as a short holiday from your weight loss and get straight back on the horse the following day. If, however, you know that once you slip you won't be able to get back on, there'll probably be only one glass of…
