Somebody gave me this link to the forum discussion on exercise calories eaten. Might be helpful. And it is a lot of info. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/818082/exercise-calories-again-wtf/p1

I have a picture of myself that pretty much shows I've let myself go back then. And these pictures really bother me. I think the most I ever was, was 170, maybe 172. But for someone my height and age, I was overweight. I've ALWAYS wanted to be that Va-Va-Voom woman, not a woman that has a belly poking out with a long…

Someone said to just take half the calories burned on those machines and use that. There's an elliptical machine that I first used when I first joined the gym. It wasn't a regular elliptical, but it's hard to describe it. But it had me sweating, heart pumping, said I lost close to 700 calories for a full hour, but what if…

Thank you for the responses. Diannet, especially, thank you for the link. Perhaps I should have looked harder for these discussions first. :p

It takes baby steps. For example, I used to be so confused in how people could jog/run on and on for 30 minutes or more without stopping. But I practiced on the treadmill for about a year. Two minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and Now, I can go an hour. You just have to build yourself up. Listen to your body…

It's starting to become a favorite topic for me. The more I learn, the more interested I am.

I would say the only thing you can do is just to patiently wait for you body to heal. In meantime I would try to just count your calories, and even try working out the upper body at least. I've been counting my calories recently and I'm already seeing and feeling a change. Losing weight is very hard. I've been trying for 9…

My five intake could be better. I am eating a lot of fruit though. Well, based on everything I've read, I just need to mix up what I eat. *sigh* All that work I did just to nearly come back to square one. It's hard to control what you want to eat rather than what you have to eat.

Back when I first started working out, I did do that. I've recently started back out and am doing great today. Got my morning walk in. What confused me was just working out constantly but seeing the scale go up and up. Maybe it might be the food.

I usually TRY to space out my meals every four hours; at 12pm, 4pm, and 8pm, and then I might eat a little snack before bedtime. I also find that reading helps time fly by, or maybe watching a movie, video games, exercise a bit.

That's another thing; I was drinking plenty of water. Lots of it. But then my body was lucky if it even got two glasses a day.
