I'm working on taking off about 15 lbs I put on after a knee injury sidelined my fitness. I had surgery 2/2/16 and am back to hitting the pavement but feel like I'm starting all over again. Add me!

You may be experiencing an increase in muscle mass, which we all know is denser than fat. Do you have much fat to lose?

I can't speak for videos but most instructors are great with beginners. Try a class in a studio if you can. From my experience it's very rewarding.

Yikes! That sounds horrible. I just had patella cartilage cleaned up and my plica cut back. I used the arc trainer the other day at the gym and it felt pretty good. I keep lots of hard boiled eggs around. I grab them and take them with me in the morning or any other time I'm on the run. They hold me over through lunch most days and are high protein. I don't eat the yolks so they're low fat. I also make quiche and take in the morning for a change, there are lots of lighter quiche…

Running has flattened my stomach more than any other fitness regimen. It does work your core quite a bit and I do believe that it does have a specific impact to belly fat, at least it does for me.

My daughter is 17 and pretty diverse in her tastes. Boys are 15 (picky) and 7 (not so bad). Thanks for the suggestions and support, I'm taking it all in and trying to come up with a plan.

I've been through similar slumps and I have found that if i can just force myself to do it once, the next day is much easier to keep going.
