  • I typically gain 7 lbs. It goes away for me in the middle of my cycle. Nothing to be alarmed about :)
  • This morning got back to weight lifting. My mini vacation turned into skipping an extra week of weight lifting aha! Deloaded a bit but did 5x5 squats: 95 ohp:70 deadlift: 135
  • Maybe this particular diet isn't for him. Has he tried the whole tracking and logging mfp way? If he has had certain eating habits for many years, cutting foods he loves cold turkey might not work for him. There are many success stories here of people who eat foods they love, just a whole lot less, and lose weight.
  • Thank you! :p
  • Great job on meeting the goal, well super passing the goal! Good job on the consistent biking kayla. I used to bike around 5 miles and my legs would be jello so 7 is insane. Where do you bike at? Well I went on a nice little birthday trip. We rented a super rustic cabin in the Sierra mountains in Sequoia National Park. No…
  • Stronglifts 5x5 done! Missed Monday's workout so squats weren't the best, but everything else felt good.
  • 5x5 complete! Squat-115 Bench press- 85 Barbell row- 90
  • Wow you guys are doing great! :p Starting weight: 257 ( 3/1/2016) Current weight: 252.4 3.5 inches lost overall :)
  • You'll definitely surpass your goal this month  I missed my 5x5 yesterday morning. The time change messed my sleep up. Today was elliptical for 32 minutes and walking my dog for a mile. I'll walk her again this afternoon.
  • That's a great NSV :). I can't wait to have that problem
  • Congrats Michelle! Not sure if we'll start a different thread, but for now I'll pit my weigh in here. Also I'm going to do my measurements :p Two week difference: Previous weight: 257 Current weight: 252.4. Yaaaay! -3.5 inches overall
  • What's wrong with just being honest. " Hey, I want to start jogging a bit" and see where that goes. Who knows maybe she will be interested in starting a program such as C25k as well. Communication is the only way.
  • He is full of it. 10 pounds and he is throwing a fit? Wooow. I agree with the others that mentioned that he is using his "disgust" of your new body as an excuse. I'd hate to see how he acted when the wrinkles, saggy skin and gray hair start showing. "Sorry hun, I only like firm skin, you can't age".
  • 3am workout complete! Strong lifts 5x5 squats-115 Ohp- 75 Deadlift-135 Will do between 30-40 minutes of the elliptical later. Oooh and chili is in the crockpot. I feel productive today
  • I don't think mine posted 3am workout done. Strong lifts 5x5. And chili is in the crockpot
  • 3am here. 5x5 time!
  • For me cardio and weight lifting compliment one another. When I run I feel better when I have been actively weight training, and when I do weights I feel like the cardio I did has boosted my endurance. Maybe it's psychological, but it works for me. As others pointed out, your physical activities should be done for fitness…
  • @ kayla, haha! That's exactly how my dog is. Anytime I take her out she has to greet every sine person we encounter. My exercise is weight lifting doing strong lifts 5x5 3 times a week and the elliptical most days. Today was squats @ 115 lbs, bench press @80lbs, and barbell row @85lbs. Skipped elliptical and went on a walk…
  • Hey everyone! I'm Kandi  I turn 29 next week, and definitely want to be fit by 30! My starting weight is 257, current weight 252, goal weight around 165. I recently started weight lifting 3 times a week. Thanks for having me in the group!
  • So far I realized that soda is a major trigger for eating junk food. It's weird I never realized that before
  • I've decided once I hit 200lbs I am getting a nice outfit( currently finding one to look forward to) and changing my hair style/color :)
  • I'm shooting for twenty by June :) Sw: 257 Cw: 252 Gw: 165-170 So far 9 days in, 5 lbs down. I'm sure attributing some to water weight, shooting for 2lb a week at least until I hit 200lbs.
  • I workout at home barefoot/in socks and this still happens so I'm guessing it's not the shoes. Like a previous poster mentioned, take the pressure off of your foot every once and awhile. It really helps!
  • Cucumbers are my go to munching snack. They do have calories, and they can add up depending on how mindless you are. My advice is to portion out these snacks and weigh them. You can munch on them, at the end of the day weigh what is left so you can still track it.
  • I just stopped drinking it. If I crave something sweet to drink I make suntea with a teaspoon of sugar or honey. The other day I had a sip of my boyfriend's coke and it was so disgustingly sweet :o . It's hard at first but after awhile you won't miss it :p
  • For me it's Monday, Wednesday, Friday wake up at 3am for weight lifting for about 45 minutes and then 20-30 minutes elliptical. Tuesday and Thursday just elliptical so I get to sleep in a bit
  • Today's workout: Squats 5x5 130 lbs Ohp 5x5 70lbs. These actually felt really good! After failing at that weight last workout I was surprised. Deadlifts 2x5 165 And I was introduced to skullcrushers.
  • Anyone feel free to add me. I am 5'8" currently at 244 lbs. So far down about 9 lbs. I do weight lifting (stronglifts 5x5) and just started running (slow jogging actually lol). Looking to get down to 165
  • Hey guys. I'm a little over a month into stronglifts and thought I'd join the forums  I started my workouts in the morning (3 am blaaah) instead of the afternoon this week. This morning was: 5×5 squats 120 lbs 5 4 4 3 5 ohp 70lbs. It felt heavy but my form was good so next week I think I'll finish the set. 2x5…
  • The gym isn't a necessity for working out. If you are successful in your workouts at home, then workout at home. I live too far from gym access so I bought a weight set for my home. For me it's cheaper in the long run to own my equipment anyway. Just do what works for you.
