Yes, thanks for your input joinn68. I'm very sad to realize that some "friends" aren't truly supportive, they just were glad I used to make them look better by comparison. Just wow. Shake my head.

Ok, sorry to be a Debbie downer, but I'm quite disappointed in the number of people who are now "haters". Apparently people are happy when you lose 5 lbs when you're 250 lbs but they're negative when you're 145. I guess just because I'm happy when others succeed, doesn't mean others will be. I find this envious attitude…

Hi there! I've lost 100 lbs so far. My go to's are eggs, apples, greek yogurt, frozen broccoli or green beans with chicken breast, field greens with tuna, almond butter on toast. Kind of boring but very effective!

Ok, never mind! I read your previous posts- thank you :)

Yes, I second that! Your body is perfect! What is your after weight so I can make that my goal too? Seriously awesome.

I have done Jenny Craig a couple of times and I liked the convenience of having someone else meal plan for me. It helped me to bust out of the rut I was in at the time. I've also "copied" their formula for weight loss: eat 6x per day, calorie controlled, lots of protein and veggies. I follow this plan to save hundreds of…

The words "stress" and "anxiety" popped out at me right away! You need something to help you cope in a positive way. Excess Food is self-abuse. You need self care. Sleep when you're tired, etc. I think you're talking about the set point theory of weight. Exercise physiologists say that this actual number becomes lower with…

Yes, I have lost 95 lbs and kept it off for many years. Yes, I did regain some when I returned to old habits, but I managed to take the pounds off again by eating small frequent meals and replacing my food addiction with a healthier running addiction. I think it's super important to do the mental work first though. What's…

Yeah, I took everyone's advice and have been filling up on protein & veggies. I'm happy that I have the energy to run again. I'm going start lifting weights to develop some upper body strength. For me, 1200 was not something could do, so I've eating around 1600. The weight is dropping like crazy now! You guys are smart :).

Thanks everybody for the replies- I'm happy to report that I'm down 2 lbs in 6 days after I started eating MORE! I haven't been hungry like a crazy person and I've had the energy to run again. You guys rock!

You're right, I was trying to quickly drop lbs between training cycles to see if I could qualify for Boston. It's not working this way! Looking forward to a long rung tomorrow and a few more calories. A very happy day ahead! I'll try to be patient!

You guys are a smart bunch! I'm seriously going to use your advice. Thanks again :)

Great articles and info everyone. So I think what I'm hearing is moderate calories, moderate exercise, and a shitload of water! Done!

Blissgage are you quite small? Maybe once the weight is gone 1200 will be satisfying?

I think you're right. 1 pound per week is a good amount to lose. Maybe I'll take the slow(er) and steady approach. Appreciate it!

Well, I've been actually eating around 1400-ish but still feel hungry :( Is it normal to be hungry when you're losing? Kind of a stupid question, but I've heard that if you're hungry you're doing something wrong? Thanks for your feedback!

Hi! For me protein foods do the trick. Eggs, almonds, chicken, cottage cheese. Fwiw I've lost 90 lbs so far with 35 to go!
