I agree. Though I would rather "spend" my calories on a good quality hamburger than one from McD's if I am going to have one.

Yes, I do not want them either... lol

work I.D.

I love the McD's vanilla cone... 170 calories...

People who say "your" when they mean "you're". And you may wonder how I would know if it is spoken, not written. Trust me, I just know...

Well put. The "fat friend" is an interesting one. I was riding the bus home with a friend of mine who jokingly said to me, "I liked the 'old Mike' better...". I don't think he was really joking. Because at 400+ pounds I was not a threat to his ego (he thinks he's a bit of a lady's man). Now that I am thinner than he is…

Thank you. It is amazing what we can do when we set our minds on a goal and go for it like everything depends on it.

I agree with jztime here... Try hard not to beat yourself up. We can only go forward, not backwards, so there is no point in dwelling. I too struggle with my eating after my 200+ pound weight loss. It is new ground for me and I am having to relearn everything about my relationship with food. There are a lot of great books…

The "can't flippin wait..." mindset is what drove me. Every single day I wanted this so bad, I could taste it. Thanks!

It is amazing when I look back. I think I am going to change the focus of my story less on what happened with my dad and more on the emotional aspects I went through in order to get me to this place. Thanks for checking it out! Mike

The healthy way seemed like the most viable option for permanent weight loss. And maintenance is not easy either but I am committed to my new lifestyle! Thanks!

Feel free to add me as well

I have successfully lost over 200 pounds and been struggling to maintain. I too have a binge eating problem (undiagnosed). I would like to connect with others who are struggling with this disorder as it does not just go away after losing all of this weight. In fact, it just feels worse now that I have worked so hard to get…

Hello from Connecticut, US

How I use to stand to the side of my coworkers' cubicles to hide my body... I found myself still doing that behavior even after I had lost over 200 pounds... I echo a lot of what was said above. The other interesting thing was getting negative reactions from people who felt bad about themselves after my dramatic weight…

I love it! Great job! I too lost over 200 pounds and know how you feel now. The part about MFP4Life is probably most important. In order for people like us to maintain a healthy lifestyle we need to accept that this is a lffe-long commitment, not just going on a diet! Thanks for sharing your story! It motivates me too!

I was prediabetic when I weighed over 400 pounds. I had to check my blood twice a day. I still remember the day the doctor gave me the monitor and how nervous I was initially about pricking my finger. I never got to the point of needing medication. To date I have lost over 200 pounds and my blood sugar is back to normal.…

I hadn't really considered the physiological aspects as I am never hungry when I do this. I had thought of it as the food addiction I always had when I was super obese as the behavior is still the same. I was talking to my mom last night (she's an R.N.) and she reminded me that she struggles from binging and bulemia from…

Your post could not have come at a better time for me. I have been struggling with my self-control over the past few months. I have lost 209 pounds and worked very hard to get here. Your story gives me hope because I have felt so alone in this. My wife does not understand why I would want to stuff myself with hundreds,…
