  • In response to whether I was obese in my youth. No I’m a 5’3” woman in the 120# and less in my teens, 130s in my 30s, 140s in my 50s and 150 to 170s in my 60s. Today I’m 154 and would love to see 130s - 140s again. It’s just tough. Funny thing I thought I was fat as a teenager.
  • I’m 68 years old. My entire life I cannot lose weight over 1100 calories / day. I’m currently doing intermittent fasting 19:5 or 18:6. It’s slow going 5lbs in my 1st month. Focusing on health benefits of IF. I have journaled in MFP daily since 2015 but got sloppy with eating hours, exercise, water intake and pushing my…
  • You are so right. My advise just keep plugging along. It's a lifestyle change not a diet. Good days, bad days. From Aug5 until Oct10 or so I gained and list the same 2#s. But that was summer fun and it was OK. Pulled the boat in October and I'm showing loses maybe .25# at a time but now 4lbs down. I'm Thankful and looking…

It's now more a lifestyle. I shoot for 1200-1300 calories a day. I walk average 12000 steps/day. Some days I eat as much as 1500…

I have a friend I walk the neighborhood or walk the mall for 1 hour a day. I do have a treadmill in the basement but much prefer to…

  • I have to say that MFP and FitBit have been awesome for me. What other diet plan in my 60+ years have I been able to carry around with me 24/7. I love love it. It is the first time in my life that I've been able to get the eating and exercise together. I am learning so much! And just want to keep going. This is NOT dieting…

  • Thanks for all the encouragement. I bought a fitbit thinking that will help too.
  • You all make a lot of sense. I am trying to mix it up! Drinking more water, too. I do several sets of squats every morning along with some arm exercises. But adding calories is very hard. Thanks for answering me. It helps to talk it out.
