  • I usually wake up needing to poop lol, so usually after. My digestive track is just ready to go in the morning I guess.
  • I bloat a bit when I drink (even moderately), but I retain water like it's my job so I don't let the fluctuation bother me since I know it'll go away. As long as you log the calories it's pretty much like anything else. The main downside is that it makes your resolve easier to break ;)

  • Wish I still lived in Canada!
  • BMI is definitely not top notch medical advice. A weight can fall in the heathly range and be underweight for some people, and other weights (especially for people with larger frames or more muscle mass) fall in overweight on the BMI scale. BMI is a reference, but not the end-all-be-all. I'm 5'8" on a large frame and…
  • Why are you eating so little? Today is in progress, okay, but yesterday reached just over 900 calories for the whole day. MFP is recommending that you eat well over 2000 calories for the whole day. That goal already has your calorie deficit built into it, you do not need to create another one on top. Your calculation…
  • Guessing OP's post was moved and is now in the right forum.
  • I do a bit of cardio first to get the blood/adrenaline flowing, like a warm up, and then I do weights, then cardio again and then stretches. That's just what I was taught to do for years while figure skating so it's what I'm comfortable with. To me, lifting weights without warm up feel like I'm stiff and rusty.
  • When I had gestational diabetes, I managed best by looking at macros and regular testing. My goal with calories was to not undereat (so as not to hurt the baby's development) so obviously that was different, but I still managed to lose some weight slowly. Did your doctor suggest carbs target per meal or snacks? But to…
  • I did 2 bets and won about $20 over my original entrance fee each time. Unless you have a lot of weight to lose though it can be a bit hard.
  • I think they can comment on it as long as a)it is in a respectful way b) is honest/frank. If my weight was causing my husband to no longer be attracted to me sexually, I would want to know. If he were concerned for my health, I would want to know. (This works both for overweight or too thin). I think it becomes a problem…
  • If your BMR is 1560, why are you eating under 1200 calories? You're starving your body's vital functions. If your TDEE is 2400-2700, you shouldn't cut more than 1000 calories from that a day for a weightloss of 2 lbs/week (so 1400-1700 calories a day, but you should really be eating at least your BMR, plus exercise…
  • As long as they don't rub it in your face, you should let them eat what they want.
  • The only big reason I would advise against skipping is if you are diabetic, where you really need to eat at regular intervals to manage your blood sugar. I personally eat breakfast because I feel it gives me more energy and wakes me up, so I'm more active, but it's personal preference.
  • You didn't say if you were eating back your calories from exercise... This is the most likely culprit. It is possible that you need to drink more water, but if it happens at the same time every day, it's more likely that you could probably use more food at that time (snack?). I second the advice to go see a doctor and get…
  • When you say "can't swim", do you mean it's bit something you can do due to no access to a pool or other reasons/conditions, or you don't know how to swim? If it's the latter, this could be a good opportunity to take a class.
  • I lost about 75 pounds about 8 years ago...and then my life flipped completely. Moved to another country, couldn't work for a couple years waiting for all the immigration stuff. Was at home all the time, living with someone addicted to sweets. Got married, I'm very happy, and he doesn't care about my weight gain, which…
  • My husband is a different scenario - he will randomly get obsessed with losing weight and start starving himself and overexercising outside until he makes himself sick. It worries me to no end. He will not go to the gym with me because he's self conscious, so aside from those spikes of exercise obsession he doesn't…
  • Also pregnant! Due April 8th. Only gained 10, but started very overweight so trying to not gain much more. Baby is already ahead of the curve!
