  • 5'8'', initial goal is 160, but I think I might reevaluate that to 145-150 once I get there. I already lost a lot off my belly and waist, but my thighs are losing sooooo slowly. It's so hard to find jeans that fit nicely right now!
  • My coach recommended BCAAs for my kickboxing workouts, which can be 3 hours and pretty intense. I haven't been taking them long enough to really conclude if they make a difference, but my main goal with them is to help muscles rebuild after workouts, not weight loss. Also, because my kickboxing finishes late, I don't have…

  • It's been 20 lbs, and I've just started noticing when I look in the mirror. Other people started commenting after 15 lbs. It can really vary from person to person, especially if you tend to wear baggy clothes. Take pictures, and use that tape to measure every week to 2 weeks, and be patient. Good luck!
  • I did c25K last summer with the Zombies app. It was great fun, had to go run to see how the story would turn out :) Good shoes, good clothes and sunglasses (if its sunny) are a must for me. Also careful of hills. The really threw off my rhythm in the beginning.

  • Try to build a routine that tells your body it's time to sleep. For me it's wash face, clean teeth, glass of water, lip-balm, lights out. Simple, but I automatically start yawning while doing it :) Also avoid any computer/mobile screen if you can, or at least use a night lighting program. I'm runnin f.lux on my computer…
  • I have 1-2 "treat" meals in a week. Often poutine or pizza where I know I'll bust my calories. I schedule them to social events, just makes my life easier if I can sit down with friends and not worry about calories for a meal. It hasn't affected my weight loss goal of 1 lbs/week (I'm actually closer to 1.2), but if it ever…
  • Since I started meal prep, I haven't gone to the cafeteria except once (I forgot my lunch on the counter :disappointed: ) It's a lot less trouble to weigh and track food. I track once while I prep, the make an MFP recipe with the correct number of servings. Doesn't really matter if the servings aren't exact since at the…
  • I found that by buying high quality chocolate, I can just have a few little pieces and be satisfied. So a 100 g bar lasts a week - so about 100 calories of chocolate per day (some days 0, some days 250) If you can't not eat the whole bar, then maybe cutting it out entirely would be easiest for you.
  • I train 6 days a week, I have long hair (natural blonde) and I sweat like crazy. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week after workouts, and on other days I'll rinse and condition. I never blow dry, I just braid it and let be. Yes, even in winter! I use Dove shampoo and conditoner, and neutrogena cleansing once every 2 weeks.
  • It could be benign, but it could be a symptom of other things. to be on the safe side, you should mention it to your doctor, especially since it's not limited to during exercise. http://www.outsideonline.com/1785581/why-do-i-get-metallic-taste-my-mouth-during-intense-exercise
  • Hello fellow imgurian! That image cracked me up this morning; especially the whey trap! Didn't think to post it here though. I'd upvote, if I could
  • Just a thought, for those saying there's too much bread for Subway sandwiches, I always ask for the wrap. Not sure how many calories it saves, though. Another bonus, it's neater to eat, since a lot less spills out :)
  • Also 4 months, just reached it this morning! Another 20 lbs to lose, I'm hoping to keep the momentum going as long as I can, but now I am prepared to see the weight loss slow down eventually.
  • You're welcome! I'll admit though, if you're playing at hard/extreme nonstop, I think you can log all the calories. :smirk:
  • Down 19 lbs as of this morning. Did 76 push ups. Could barely do kneeling in January. Can now do one pull-up! Congratulations to everyone, keep it up!
  • Nice! I love DDR! Estimating the amount of calories will be tricky, though. It depends on your weight and the level you're playing at, and a bunch of other factors. MFP has "dancing, aerobic" in the exercise list, which is probably what I'd classify it under. Just note that it will be an estimate, and probaby an over…
  • I am a chocoholic. I used to be able to eat it without end. But back in january when I started weight loss my coach strongly recommended I eat sauerkraut and kefir daily. They are two fermented foods which help balance your microbiome. Since about a month after that I can't eat more than a few pieces of chocolate, or…
  • Hi! It's interesting to see all of your goals and how you are achieving them :) 1) How much do you weigh at the moment? I'm 5'8", 182 lbs started at 200 in January 2) How much would you like to weigh? My goal is 155-160, and see from there. Never been that weight as an adult. 3) How many times a week do you workout? In a…
  • Be patient, it'll come. Took 8-10 weeks before I actually "felt" a difference in my clothes, and even now, 4 months in, some pants still fit quite well. I believe the cut of certain pants just fits more sizes. Stick to facts : if you are losing inches, keep doing what you are doing!
