Good luck! Exercise is hard with chronic pain but if you can get your strength up it will help.

Welcome! It’s really hard with meds, I ended up on nothing but over the counter painkillers because of side effects that I felt were worse than the pain! I also found out that foods cause a lot of my pain after going on a zero carb carnivore diet to try and resolve IBS issues. After a few weeks not only was my IBS better…

Welcome and good luck! It’s hard when you’re in pain all the time but worth persevering.

That’s brilliant, well done. I still have 14 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight and I’m not sure it’s ever going to happen, been stuck here with a few up and back down blips for about two years! Went off plan last Friday and Saturday, had some potatoes. Really interesting, my stomach was fine as usual but my pain…

That’s brilliant @canadjineh I am really pleased for you and your hubby. I made it through my meeting ok thankfully! Since then I’ve been tweaking my diet and over the last week have been almost but not quite carnivore and it seems to finally be working for me. I’ve been keeping my food diary and a separate symptom diary.…

Thanks @canadjineh that’s really helpful, that could come in very useful for me. I’m keen to keep carbs low as diabetes is rampant in my family. I re-committed to carnivore at the weekend and am regretting it, I’m suffering again. Seems like if I go zero fibre for more than two days it sets me off just as much as eating…

@canadjineh Thats really good news, so glad he’s getting his vaccine! I’ve started tracking my food again, I’m keen to get to the root of my different issues especially as I had another IBS flare up yesterday. Looking at my diary and comparing it with my symptom diary it’s clear that both too much and too little or…

@canadjineh Im so sorry about your husband, what a nightmare and yes, any stress does make our Fibro worse. Sending wishes for a good result from his surgery and a quick recovery. My stomach really suffered after my first foray into plants for my new ketovore plan and after a couple of days back to carnivore have been…

Hi, I’ve been off the forums for a while too, beautiful picture, my belated congratulations to them both. I came back to have another stab at the carnivore diet which failed spectacularly again, another energy crash from not eating enough followed by eating carbs! Bad cycle to get into. My next plan is to try a ketovore…

Hi @genki90 I think it’s going to be a matter of trying different things as everyone seems to react differently. Lots of people find plant based really helpful but for other people like me it makes things worse. Some people find a carnivore diet helps them enormously. Most people find a balance somewhere in between. I…

Oh no, you’re really going through it right now. Don’t worry about it, focus on healing and getting better. Wishing you a quick recovery.

That’s very interesting, it might also explain why some of us have it much worse than others.

Thanks for the updates both of you. I’ve been able to introduce more normal foods into my diet this week and am feeling so much better. Unfortunately full carnivore only works short term for me, after a few weeks I lose all energy and struggle to do even basic tasks. But it did seem to reset my system so that’s good.

@canadjineh That’s the most frustrating thing about the probiotics, I spent ages looking to make sure I chose one that was gluten free, dairy free etc. My body just did not like them for some reason! I’ve spent the last two weeks on a full carnivore diet and finally feel a bit better, I was even able to add a small portion…

I’ve got into the habit of going out walking once a week, we walk round the quieter streets of our neighbourhood so it’s still a pleasant walk but not as busy as the local parks. I’m now up to a half hour walk each week which is amazing for me as I used to find walking the most painful exercise. I do use a walking stick…

Well amazingly enough I’m still mostly meat based. By that I mean the majority of my meals have been meat and eggs but I have eaten small amounts of plants a couple of times in the last week. I’m pleasantly surprised because though I stopped trying full carnivore I haven’t gone overboard and started eating loads of grains…

I’m late checking in for week 3 because I’ve been studying for final exams but it went a lot better than I expected. I stuck with my new rule of if I want it I eat it and surprised myself by still eating mostly meat and eggs. I also ate less dairy but was still eating some every day, mostly in the form of yogurt and milk.…

That table from @FIT_Goat is fascinating, that such a small amount of plant foods can make a difference. I guess the type of plants you’re eating is just as important as the amount. I would also love to see a current food list, that would be interesting. Thinking about it, I eat a lot of dairy and still have a lot of…

Thanks @Violet_Flux and @Sylphadora that’s very reassuring. I guess I fixated on full carnivore as I have Fibromyalgia and digestive issues and so many people have said it cured their chronic illnesses. I really think I’ve tried enough times now to know it’s not working for some reason and I really can’t stay in an endless…

This week has been a lot better but not full carnivore, I’ve had a few treats. Weirdly, seeing the link above, I decided yesterday that I’m going to stop trying to be full carnivore and let myself just be mostly carnivore. I decided I just can’t do this circle anymore and need to do whatever is going to work for me…

Restarting. This is now my first week, had a relapse into bad habits due to illness and not having a plan of what to eat when I’m sick (just posted in the other thread). I am eagerly back on plan after suffering agonising pain from too much fibre this morning and will be doing extra time on carnivore to make up for the…

I fell off the wagon over the weekend, I was soooo sick it was awful and when my boyfriend offered some veggies it sounded so nice. It was the kind of veggies I like, which isn’t many as I hated them most of my life, so I caved. Three days later.......spent this morning in agony with the usual stomach cramps I get when I…

I’ve come down with a cold and had to take a day off work today as I’ve been feeling so ill but am very proud of myself as I haven’t used it as an excuse to eat any of the left over treats from Christmas sitting in my kitchen! I had plain Greek yogurt for breakfast, crispy bacon and cheese for lunch and my appetite seems…
-
I’m in, ready for a challenge and will be very interested to see my results this time around. I’ve been mostly carnivore up to Christmas (which totally derailed me but never mind). So I was eating plants 1-2 times a week but sticking to meat eggs and dairy the rest of the time. I’ve actually had issues with full carnivore…

Welcome and good luck! Feel free to add me as a friend if you like, I’m always open to new friends on here and generally go in to my feed and diary every day.

Thanks for that post, very informative. This could explain why I have such a problem with my digestion and in particular when I go off plan and eat bread. I’ve never been properly diagnosed on that side because one of the things they want to eliminate before diagnosing it as IBS or another issue is Coeliac disease and I…

That’s a really good way of thinking about it, I’ve had a habit of pushing myself too far and ending up unable to do anything for weeks so I gave up completely. Really considering trying again with this new way of thinking about it.
-
Well done. I have the same problem with overdoing things, I set a goal and then find myself doing too much because I want to do better than my goal. I want to get moving more again but am wary of causing yet another flare up from doing too much. Maybe I need to set myself goals with limits.
-
Wow, you’ve been through a lot, your progress is amazing considering what you’ve been through.

This is so great for you, I wish plant based would work for me but it just doesn’t for some reason. I definitely think eating foods that are as natural as possible helps, I still eat too much processed food because it’s easier for me but I know I feel better when I eat more foods that are as unprocessed as possible. Keep…
