It will only show exercise you pair it with a heart rate sensor. H6 or H7 H7 has gymlink to so you can see your heart rate on most cardio equipment, it will also control level/incline when using cardio/heart rate program
-
Where's that like button (LOL)
-
Polar A300 or A360 is water proof, and with H7 sensor, it will also track your heart rate in water.

Are you going working out on a regular basis?? If so and you need some pointers find one on a monthly basis, but do not sign up for one with a year contract, they may be preying on the new years resolutions people that will pay for a year, go for a month and be stuck in a contract!! For me I have use one but it was only…

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ the amount of calories you burn just being alive
-
with polar beat your v02 max is a pay option, I have a V800 and when I use the weight lifting profile, my calorie burn is no more than my bmr.
-
HRM are only good for steady state cardio, are you using the weight lifting profile?
-
I have the V800 takes care of all my needs,(what bcalvanese said) only take it off to charge it. Why would the chest strap bother you, you should only wear it when exercising. Everyone is so caught up on getting 10000 steps as being active. You can also achieve this with other activities. With my V800 10000 steps does not…

It doesn't work with Android, only apple products with the latest IOS system.
-
Unless things have changed, it will only do it if you have an Apple product, with the latest IOS on it, it doesn't work with android.
-
Flow will only sync with the IOS operating system :-(
-
Only if you don't use it for it's intended purpose, (during cardio workout) which is what you're doing when using an exercise machine. The FT4 does not calculate in BMR you would need a Polar Activity monitor to do that.

If you didn't break the skin try swimming, or water aerobics, I had a broken ankle, did swimming finished my scuba certification, and a dive trip before being able to walk without the boot.
-
I get up at 3:45 on work days, to be at the gym by 5. I get everything ready the night before, try to be in the bed by 9:30. It makes for a better day. Also since my daily activity varies, I can't use the excuse "I'm to tired to go today"
-
Look at your speed, if it's walking speed say 3 to 4 mph then use that, if it's running speed, 6 to 7 mph use that. Arm based HRM aren't that reliable because of the sliding back and forth, and the elliptical calories are usually more than you actually burned
-
How long have you been running?? You may want to check with your doctor. I do 60 mins of cardio keeping my heart rate over 80% with a 5 min cool down and straight to the shower, haven't experienced any problems.
-
Okay I can see that for Australian rules, or soccer players.
-
Why would you think a professional, or Olympic athletes gets over 12500 steps per day. I would depend on their training, and most don't do a lot of cardio work, but more weight training.
-
Even though I average over 10k steps a day, that's not what I use to measure my daily activity. I go by the CDC recommendations of 1 hour and 15 minutes (75 minutes) of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity (i.e., jogging or running) every week and muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week that work all major…

Not a typo, and not locked in a cell.
-
as low as 3 or 4 hundred on non work days, and as many as 18000 on work days. But I don't go by how many I get in a day, but by my average per week.
-
It looks like you're your own worst enemy. I work from 7 am till 7 pm, but fortunately, it 3 or 4 days a week, I'm up at 3:45 to be at the gym by 5 so I can be out by 6:35. Since I work out, I'm not as stressed as I used to be, and don't need the time to relax and unwind at the end of the day, or the full 8 hrs sleep, I do…

I have a Polar V800 with H7 sensor, what made me buy my first polar was seeing someone running on the treadmill and their heart rate was displayed without holding the handles. I use mine to keep up my heart rate steady, it controls the level/incline of most cardio equipment. If you're doing steady state cardio, something…

Not what you asked, but I will share why I like my Polar activity monitor, I used a polar FT80 HRM and loved it, so when they came out with the activity monitors, it was a no brainier to upgrade to one of those. I'm very pleased with it also. If it's heart rate you're looking for, would getting a fitbit really be an…
-
The more information you're able to enter into the HRM the more accurate it will be, but you have to remember it's all an estimate, from the calories you take in as well as the calories you burn.
-
The two are very different, the FT7 is just a heart rate monitor(steady state cardio), the Fit bit is an activity monitor(all day activity) . FWIW the polar loop, a300, a360 m400 and V800 are activity monitors that would compare to the Fitbit Charge HR. Now if you're doing steady state cardio, the polar would be a better…

Resistance to movement if it has the handles.
-
sounds like a fitbit charge HR would be better suited for her. it would sync automatically with her phone.
-
Here's a site where you can compare the different Activity monitors. You can chose one by which activities that your mother does. Also keep in mind that some need chest straps to monitor heart rate. http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/

I'm using a V800 now, I've used an FT 80 and loop, I've loved everyone of them. I like the V800 for the waterproof HRM feature, GPS and the different profiles. I was able to get it new at a discount since I only need the watch, already had a sensor.
