A quick Google search (so it must be true) said that in your third trimester you need 450-500 calories a day more. And if even that isn't enough - this is not the time to be hungry. Feed yourself and your baby.

Hi and welcome! Calorie counting really works with determination and patience. You can do it! Have you read the stickied posts in the forums? This is a good one to start with: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1

This is something you'll just have to monitor over the long term. I'm finding that maintenance is as non-linear as weight loss! I put on 5 pounds of water weight on vacation, now I'm down 2.5 pounds in the last 2 days. Some people fluctuate within a 10-pound range. I'm guessing you're female, and monthly water retention…

I registered with them a couple of weeks ago and it said they'd send me a survey when the new one came out, but I haven't heard anything else from them.

@PAV8888 what "intermediate app" do you mean? I just got an iPhone and Apple watch a couple of days ago after having a FitBit for years. I synced the Activity and Health apps as directed, but I'm having the same kinds of errors - I go for an extra walk in the evening and they take calories away. I don't manually enter…

Ooooh, I thought this thread was going to be about TECTONIC plates. (The Juan de Fuca Plate FTW, btw)

I started on MFP on January 3, 2017, at age 44 and 182 pounds. I'm 5'2.5" I got to 142 by November, 2017. I took a long maintenance break until mid-2018, then lost another 9 pounds before the 2018 holidays. The photo is me in October 2016 at around 180 and at 133 in December, 2018. I'm maintaining at around 135. My only…

Cool, I'm 5'3 and started at 182. Are you weighing all of your food with a food scale? Sometimes when you start out with enthusiasm, 1600 seems like a lot, but we didn't get to be overweight by not being able to eat 1600 calories, if you get my meaning. :) If you weigh your food, you might see that you're really eating…

At maintenance after losing 50 pounds, eating all the carbs.

By stats I meant age, height, and current weight and goal weight. Depending on how much you have to lose, 2 pounds a week might be too much. 1200 is too low unless you're already very short and sedentary. How many calories did MFP tell you to have each day? Eat that many, PLUS your exercise calories. Cutting too many…

Hi! What are your stats and goals? Are you using a food scale and weighing all of your food in grams (liquids in cups/oz)? This post has a lot of useful information to get you started: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1 Welcome!

I don't stay motivated, but I do it anyway. What's the alternative? Eat the way I used to? I can't do that and lead the life I want to lead. So I do it anyway.

I agree to start with walking. It's gentle and will help get your endurance and energy levels back up. Then maybe yoga for strength and flexibility. Baby steps!
-
OP, see how what goes? There will be no perceptible difference in your health or weight loss between creamy and crunchy. Eat whichever one you prefer, or what's on sale/looks good when you go shopping. :)

Their salmon patties are great, too!

Yep, totally normal! They call it a "whoosh" if you want to look up more references to it on the boards. Great job, and congrats on your big SEVEN-OH!

Hi Lizette! Do you own a food scale? Weighing and logging are key. Read the stickied posts on the forums, especially this one to get started: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1 Welcome!

IF is intermittent fasting - some people find it helpful to eat all of their calories for the day within an 8-hour (or smaller) window of time. 16:8 is a common option. It's not necessary to do that to lose weight, but some people find it easier. MFP is My Fitness Pal. :) Welcome!

Hi Cristy! For the underlying issues, a therapist is really the way to go. Whatever you think you'd be embarrassed to tell them, they've probably heard way worse. Therapy helped me immensely. A book that helped me is "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. It's not about weight loss directly, but it helped me with all of…

There's a British company called Bravissimo, they're fantastic for sports bras and everything else. Not sure where you are, but they ship to the US.

Don't forget the paper towel analogy - when the roll is full, you hardly notice taking 1 or 2 sheets off. But at the end, taking one sheet makes a big difference. <3

What weight did you start at? The higher your starting weight, the longer it can take to show that you've lost.

Hi! I have 3 cats, 2 were overweight and one was underweight. They are all a normal weight now. It's very similar to people in terms of CICO. Like others have said (and just like with people), you don't want to cut too fast too soon. My cats would wake me up at night if they were hungry, so I save a little food to give…

For restaurant food, see if the restaurant has nutrition information on their website. Chain restaurants tend to be better about posting their calorie info, and you may be able to use that info for non-chains. Starbucks has a lot of info that should work for coffee drinks you buy anywhere. You don't have to count calories…

Hi! I don't have any experience with migraine medication, but my height and weight stats were similar to your when I started here. I'm an inch or two taller but was about 5 pounds heavier, and I've lost about 50 pounds. Do you still have a treatment team for your EDNOS? Since your eating is really stressing you out, it…

@Debsmys you don't have to cut out cheese or anything else (even trans fats). Just weigh it and include it in your log for the day. Cheese is very calorie-dense, so eyeballing it instead of weighing it can easily reduce or eliminate your deficit. Also, comparison is the thief of joy, so try not to compare your weight loss…

@lynn_glenmont - I do the exact same thing you do for restaurant food, and guessing/estimating has worked fine for me, too. I didn't say or try to convince OP that the data logged for meals out was "meaningless," I said it's a guess and it still counts. I didn't say a guess makes something a cheat, either - I don't…

Good little chocolates. Ghirardelli, Godiva. I like the little Dove treasures, dark chocolate with peanut butter. There's a local chocolate place that makes little chocolate peanut butter creams. Totally worth the 50-60-ish calories.

I made separate "meals" for day snacks (that I'm likely to have at work) and evening snacks (that I usually have at home) so my favorites are kind of specialized by location instead of lumped together. I'm really into snacks. B)
