  • Skirts! no more chub rub! And I used to have a huge butt. Skirts over-emphasized it, or draped over it like a tablecloth. Not flattering. Now it's merely big, as opposed to huge. Moving from fat to curvy makes all my clothes look and fit better!
  • you're okay. i'd keep everything. it might go bad a bit sooner than it would have otherwise, but I don't see anything that would cause concern. It may not have been as cold in the fridge, but the fridge would have run all night and kept pumping out the chilled air. If anything, sniff test the stuff that was in the door. In…
  • I put vanilla extract and imitation caramel extract in my coffee with 2 TBSP 2% milk and my sweetener of choice. A few drops of extract will do you and it only contains a calorie or two. Each cup for me is 20 calories. I use a concentrated liquid sucralose sweetener (sucradrops). You can try out all the different flavor…
  • it releases people from the culturally conditioned 3 meals a day at assigned times eating plan. I am almost never ready to eat at "normal" times. I naturally gravitate towards a late lunch and early dinner and skipping breakfast. I just have a name for it now.
  • hey, i'll admit there's a great deal of satisfaction in a good poop! And also, good illustration of why weight goes up and down every day.
  • um, calories vs. no calories. Sports Drinks serve a purpose, but can be high in calories, as much so as Soda. I know people who assume they are just fortified, artificially flavored water and drink the stuff like crazy. Read the labels.
  • Yes. It's revenge on the popcorn poppers. Now that's a smell that I can't stand! But I never heat fish whether from a can or leftover filets.
  • a lot of vegan entrees i've seen are pretty high in calories. cooking, processing veggies into patties and things can make them calorie dense, especially if you're generous with the olive oil (which every vegan recipe seems to use a lot of).
  • Yes, exactly. It measures also in ounces/lbs, down to eights of an ounce. But the gram measurements are not down to one gram. Digital display, goes from 0 to 2 to 4, etc. I think I just need to upgrade. I paid about $20 ten years ago for this one.
  • if your chicken biscuit is 770 cals, i'm guessing it's either fast food breakfast, or a frozen microwave thing. I think that's part of the problem. Those tings are super high calorie for what you're getting. If it's homemade - you said you could grill instead of fry the chicken - that would be helpful. If there's gravy or…
  • don't shave in the winter; shave in the summer. that's my compromise. Couldn't ever come to terms with the enormous waste of time spent shaving when arms and legs are covered up all day. I wouldn't shave in summer either, except my look is not hippie...it's office professional. I can't quite see hairy legs with gray pencil…
  • all-you-can-eat is always a scam. In order for it to be a value, you have to eat a certain amount. You feel obligated to at least eat that amount, otherwise you should have ordered single-servings off the menu. The food is usually poor quality and cheap for the restaurant to prepare and serve. If you've ever noticed...the…
  • i'm betting the "overweight" category they're referring to is people 5 or 10 lbs over normal weight parameters, not 50+. I'm betting too, those people work on fitness and good nutrition. I could see a person on the heavier end of normal, or plus a few lbs, who exercises, possibly having health benefits. I also bet the term…
  • I get you. About a month ago I was so tired of guarding my food choices, and I was feeling low and empty, and i wasn't necessarily craving foods, but I was craving the freedom to eat anything at any time. I ended up downing a dozen large cookies nearly every day for 3 weeks. Oh yeah, put on some pounds, but there was…
  • i don't mind the chopping...I have a very nice Chef's knife. I hate all the washing and peeling of veggies and fruits (any edible peel I leave on). And all the things that get dirty when working with raw meat that you have to keep track of so as to not possibly contaminate everything in the kitchen with e.coli.
  • Alpine Cider, sugar free is 15 calories a serving, and has 100% rda vitamin C. It's my go to when i'm want something sweeter than tea, and that might help a little with a cold/congestion.
  • Gained 12 pounds this Michigan winter. Was well in my way to running a 5k until it became impossible to run outside. This late late spring has led to sloth and gluttony. I need sunshine and fresh warm air! I was doing well until Jan. Haven't been able to get back on track since.
  • stiff-whipped egg whites w/vanilla extract and sweetener as a frosting substitute. uh, no.
  • my problem treat food is cookies. i have discovered that I don't enjoy eating just one or two. no matter how slowly and attentively I savor them, the joy in it for me has always been eating a lot of them. One or two just makes the craving worse, so I choose not to have them over moderation. For me, at least on a…

  • I do one meal and a snack or two. I have a 15 calorie coffee for breakfast, one later in the day, about 100 calories of veggies, or egg whites to snack on. Then dinner. Don't get hungry except around dinner time. It alleviates the hassle of packing a lunch for work. It makes dinner easy because I don't have to finagle all…
  • This time around I was at day 44. I don't run like clockwork, but it's usually plus or minus 3 or 4 days, not 2 weeks! I do believe diet has something to do with that.
  • Have to read the labels. Some "light" products have the same # of calories as the regular version, but they're sold as "light" because they have less salt, or less fat but enough added sugar to make up the calories. I'd say, if you plan on eating light products for the rest of your life, then use them as a weight loss…
  • we're so desensitized to the actual amount of food our bodies need by huge portions and calorie dense foods that many people can't imagine living eating only so much. Much less can they imagine subtracting some to create a calorie deficit for weight loss. So they make comments out of their ignorance. I was out to lunch…
  • Holy cow! How on earth do you cook like that all the time? That looks delicious! I find that hot meals for some reason stick with me longer than salads and sandwiches. Something about a hot meal seeming more like a "real meal" than grabbing a sandwich. I stay full better if I pack homemade frozen food that I can microwave…

  • i actually found Ralph Lauren wool-blend dress pants at Goodwill, and they were like-new, and judging by the perfect pressed creases in the legs, freshly dry-cleaned. this is not an area with a lot of folks who have to dress-up for work, and yet Goodwill had many good options. It's a worth a look first if price is an issue.
  • never believed PMS was a thing...until I lost significant weight and discovered this monster! Haven't figured out how to control the insatiable craving - not hunger, mind you, but craving that drove me to the store at 10:30 at night to buy and eat a dozen bakery cookies twice this week. My period is way late...does that…

  • I put real milk in mine, and milk (especially whole or cream) has a sweet quality to it. As for adding sugar, add to taste. Some people drink their coffee so sweet it's like a dessert, and some put a tsp of sugar just to take the edge off the bitterness that can happen in a bad cup of coffee.
  • I didn't wake up one day, and boom! instantly change forever. I have to make the decision each and every morning to eat within my calorie limit for today. If you ask us, many people here will attest to the same thing. There's no magical change in attitude toward food one morning. Most of us make that decision every…
  • the answer for me is no. what I want is almost always calorie dense, and if I want to eat more than one meal a day, I have to make other choices. I crave sweets, and last week ended up eating nothing but cookies for two whole days, because nothing else fit in my calories after giving in to my craving. that's not a healthy…
