  • One love handle bigger than the other. One side of belly sticks out further. Lopsided here too!

  • There's always yoga. You can do some googling and look up strength moves. Or get yourself some free weights. Plenty of options for strength training that don't involve jumping up and down angering your landlord. It just use what you'd learned from your videos so far and put together your own program that skips the bouncy…
  • Don't give up! Weight doesn't drop off consistently. It moves in fits and starts. A lot of people lose the first bit quickly and then when weight loss slows they give up. Stick with it! It sounds like your mentally programmed to give up now at 4kg. Push past it.
  • i've noticed the same thing. i probably get more nutrients now than my old diet of lots of carby junk. my body doesn't seem as resilient the last few months, though. I can imagine the demand on it to burn stored fat instead of getting it all quick and easy through food, and the stress of lower calorie intake could mean the…
  • I have to buy pants that fit along the way because I work in a professional environment. Still good on tops, as I had quite a few that were a bit snug. For me, clothes that fit right are an important motivator. But I only buy staple pieces, like nice black pants that I can wear everyday. But the temptation to go splurging…
  • I was us size 16 at 196. I didn't drop one size until about 175. But at 166 now I'm just about down a second size. Clothes sizes are weird. We all know that.
  • Mine are getting more prominent as my belly and thighs shrinks. Maybe because they are closer together and the skin is looser. I'm not expecting mine to go away. Alas.
  • I just pay attention to where the waistband sits on me and how wide it is. The wider the better-helps hold the belly in vs cutting into it. Always a long shirt for me. And longer shorts.
  • I compromised: one good cup of coffee with cream for breakfast. Tea the rest of the day. I don't like plain black tea. I've found a vanilla chai tea that has a richer flavor and more resembles coffee. I also like fruit teas-the raspberry and blueberry and other berries seem to be the most flavorful. I tend to put one…
  • Lost 30 pounds so far, no exercise beyond doing what I have to do everyday. Just means I have to stick to my calories tightly because there's no leeway for a few extra bites when there's no exercise.
  • i'm all sorts of lopsided. the curve of my left hip looks completely different than the right. the small of my waist is higher up on side side than the other. that's the way bodies are. we also don't move evenly, so i could see that having asymmetrical results. you can target muscles for balance, but if it's fat, not much…
  • i find tea really helpful because it gives me something soothing with flavor to consume when I'm bored or get the munchies and i've already had my snack or I don't have calories to spend on food at that point in the day. No kind promotes weight loss - it can help you stick to your allotted calories because it fills your…
  • You can also get slips that are shorts instead of skirts. I like them because they are lightweight and less prone to static cling. I get sweaty in bike shorts. When I found out chub rub was a thing and not just my problem I felt so much better wearing something under skirts and dresses. I don't know if it will go away as I…
  • You're at the point where either you are going to wear it, or it's going to wear you. All you need is some confidence and you can rock it. But if you feel insecure, people will pick up on that. Wearing a bikini is often a mental challenge.
  • the fact that it works. the fact I i understand how I'm hurting myself physically and emotionally by overeating, and so I am choosing everyday to take care of myself because I deserve to feel good in my own body and deal with my problems in a way that doesn't cause other harm, like weight gain.
  • Half a large beet. And a frozen banana. And 1/4of an avocado.1/2 cup water. Hot pink in color and naturally sweet.
  • there was a learning curve for calorie counting for me at first. But I think the brain power utilized was more directed toward self-control than doing the math. Consciously making food choices does take more attention than eating whatever without thought. But now, i plan and pre-log food, and at work, it's a no-brainer. I…
  • 5'5". At 193 I wore a tight size 16. now at 173, i'm still a size 16, but not tight anymore. I'm pear shaped. I'm hoping that I can wear at 12 at my goal weight of 150, but i'm beginning to be skeptical.
  • weight loss to improve a health marker, and better nutrition to improve a health marker aren't the same. we can choose to eat 1200 calories of candy bars every day and lose weight. we can choose to eat mostly veg and protein and no added sugar, and improve health in ways that aren't related to size of waistline. or we can…
  • Am I the only no? I lose interest in food when tired. But maybe that's because the effort to get up and prep food is not worth it. But i've left food on my plate with no interest in finishing it when tired. Never happens normally.
  • 5'5". from 193 to 173 and still wearing size 16. big hips and butt. wondering how long until size 14...
  • don't forget to address the mental challenge! I found my body is perfectly happy with smaller portions and fewer snacks, but my brain doesn't want to cooperate. I have to have a strategy to keep from eating out of boredom (tell yourself you can have a snack, but nor for another 20 minutes. often you turn to something else…
  • I had health class in school - 1 quarter of the year went to health class instead of gym every year. 4 years of gym/health was mandatory in high school. In health class we did first aid and cpr one year (we all got red cross certified - that was actually great), one year reproductive anatomy and health, not including sex,…
  • I started out losing when I hit the obese category. I also got scared when I moved from NJ where I was obviously heavy to rural Michigan where I am normal/trim in comparison and saw where I could be headed. Yeah, the food culture out here is much different -meat and potatoes. I didn't grow up like that. We had tons of…
  • Grew up overweight. Sat the dinner table every night hearing my sister being told to eat more and have dessert because she was underweight while I wasn't allowed seconds and dessert. We were equally active and my mom cooked homemade healthy everyday. No one says the universe is fair. Some people have to work harder to have…
  • a kid will eat plain cheerios gladly, but grown-up whines that they're not sweet? cmon now. why don't you eat food that naturally contains iron, not as an additive? Body will probably get more out of it that way. or, supplement - problem solved
  • Your salad sounds yummy and nutritious, just too large. Don't eliminate it. Like you pointed out-3.5 servings of chicken. Use one instead. Olives are high in calories, but also high in flavor-use a few. Cup them up so you get the taste in more bites. Choose either feta or bacon bits. With salads you have to ration the…
  • I've done it. It's good, but I nearly busted my food processor. Bananas aren't exactly lo-cal or low sugar. You also have to eat it right away. It turns into baby food consistency quickly.
  • My hunger turns into nausea not long after the stomach growling starts. Every one is different but I find I have to graze all day long. Keep feeding the tiger and don't go on an empty stomach too long. But for others 3 meals and no snacks works. Change it up until you find what works for you. But that's not going to help…
  • I'm a grazer... I'll spend 2 hours picking at my lunch while I'm at my desk at work. I like to have carrot sticks and things you can nibble on and eat with your fingers. It helps avoid snacking because I'm chewing on things but it's not an extra snack added in.. It'sstill the planned meal. I'll make a veg for dinner and…
