Bbq and pasta sauce. Also the sodium count is ridiculous.

It has changed how I eat and most days I view food as fuel but sometimes I work in indulgences. I find its better to do that than totally denying myself, struggling with binge eating. Example, I enjoyed a piece of REALLY good cake yesterday, and for dinner I had a grilled piece of chicken with a measured amount of spicy…

You can adjust it to suit your needs. I'm not sure as to the default given, I would guess it's easier to procure carbs than proteins (cost wise) For me, I shoot (most days ) for a more even split 30 30 40. Again, evaluate what is sustainable and enjoyable for you, a lil trial and error.

I am the culmination of my life experiences and how they shaped the way I treat myself and others. Being fat and being treated like a fat girl was a significant part of what shaped me to change. Don't very much care what I'm called, fat, ugly, fit or pretty. What matters is my ability to change to suit me. Words like fat…

I've been at this for several years, lost 60, 10-15 to go. During this time I've battled chronic pain, working around injury, loss of loved one, and just the day to day stresses of raising kids and running a household. How do I stay motivated? Truth is I don't, I've gone through bouts of "bleep it", BUT what I do is…

Exercise is not a punishment for something you ate, it's a celebration of what your body is capable of doing. If you embrace activities with that mindset, you'll find it's worth it.

I quit 5 years ago, no gum, no pills, no patch, just stopped spending all that money for a pack, was SUPER witchy for 2 weeks, hit my highest weight, joined here after a year or two trying different things, 60lbs gone....it can be done, the cliché is true, one day at a time.

Coffee, 100%, I did give up cream and sugar a long time ago.

It had been a year since my brother died and I was so busy during the immediate after, being executor of the estate, the grief and mourning (and stress from my mother ) had a delayed hit. I started binging just 5 to 10 lbs away from goal and been fighting within a 7lb up down gain since October. I started seeing a…

Yup, chronic pain due to stenosis, scoliosis and compressed disk. Used to get spinals, started with a trainer knowledgeable in severe injuries, learned to listen to my body and adjust activities. Definitely consult with a dr to see what's "safe" for your condition. What helps me a lot is floor pelvic tilts and other…

I'm very Spock like to my approach to life, I think I'm mostly human though; ) Clever post.

In a similar situation with father in law. Hub and 2 sisters have been doing 24/7 WITHOUT any assistance (too long of explanation there). This has been going on for 2 years, and in the middle of it my brother died suddenly at just 42 leaving me with my difficult mother.. I get and empathize with the stress. I started binge…

In perimenopause, on progesterone, had ablation, lost 60, more active than I've ever been, last 10 to 15 won't budge but I know there's light at the end of tunnel! Keep logging and trying. I really find doing moderate carb high protein helps my symptoms. I'm super sensitive to sodium and swelling so I try to watch that…

What is the deal with this? It's the 3rd time this week I've heard of this water fast AND I just heard my brother in laws niece ended up in the hospital for doing this! Your organs shut the bleep down!

My son was on it for years for migraines. He took it when he was in grade school, and was on a low dose, he was/is slender, it did not cause weight gain, but caused lethargy, which I'm sure could contribute to weight gain in adults.

47, lost 60 and in same boat. I too do not want the face lift route and been trying everything natural. Keeping self hydrated helps, cutting back on alcohol helps, I use argon oil and coconut oil for moisturizer and do self face massages every day.

864 days, 60 lbs lost, bleeping around with last 10 to 15 for almost a year, but this has helped me not regain during some VERY VERY stressful times.

Sorry you experienced that! The way I look at experiences like that though, it gives us a clear cut example of what not to do or act.

Yup, but it wasn't out of concern, it was from an uglier place. Many years ago when I was at a mid range healthy bmi, I was at a beach picnic, chocolate covered strawberries were being passed around in a container, (chocolate can be a trigger, so if I feel I need to avoid I do) I was walking away toward water when my…

It does present a slippery slope as before mentioned. I do like the idea of incentives for reaching certain health markers though. For example coupons and discounts to health clubs, massages, groceries if you lower your bp or blood sugar levels or lose x amount of weight.

It ends up being a personal choice on what tastes good to you. There's nothing wrong with including fats in your macros. I like the Land o lakes olive oil sea salt butter, or real butter for sautéing. As far as adding it to a food, I like other fats like guacamole or avocado oil.

Still makes a good salad dressing :p
