I did a half hour of yoga and then spent two hours doing yard work.

I officially weigh and log one day a week (Tuesdays). Sometimes I will step on the scale another day but I don't log it.

I do. I even made a list broken down in 5 pound increments. Little and big things. When I lost the first 5 pounds I bought myself a new eyeshadow. For ten pounds I'm getting new work out tank. 15 pounds and I'm ordering season 1 of SOA on DVD. 20 pounds and I'm buying this beautiful necklace from Etsy. Some other things…

I log it and then move on. In the past I would have let it derail me.

What she said. I had the same issue a couple weeks ago. Congrats on the weight loss.

My biggest was medication. I gained 50 pounds in 3 months despite not upping my calories and remaining active. I slowly packed on the additional extra 25 pounds by getting a desk job (less active in general), eating lots of junk and drinking soda like a mad woman.

My knees are bad. I just had surgery number 4 in December. Yoga has helped. I was really surprised when my PT suggested it but it has helped strengthen the surrounding muscles which makes my knee more stable. I've only been doing it for 36 days but I already see a HUGE difference. I do have to skip some of the poses though.

Two times in the last 8 years have my doctors said anything about my weight. One was the first time I saw my OB (got a new one right after that appointment) when I was pregnant. He walked in then walked right back out. He came back in and said " your chart says you are obese and I expected someone bigger. Do you mind…

Thanks. Judging from his website and Facebook page he appears to have a slow and steady wins the race mentality. But I will defiantly make sure that fad diets and fad exercises are not part of his plan.

During the week I have been getting up before them to do yoga but if they are up they love doing yoga as well (my youngest is quite fond of doing the downward dog and the planks- his form is better then mine on the plank).

Hi, I've been on dieting/exercising for 7 days. I stepped on the scale (weighing once a week) this morning and lost 5.5 pounds. My scale is accurate. As others have said its normal to lose a bigger amount the first week. Good luck on the rest of your weight loss journey.
