  • I did! There is one Irish pub in my town, with amazing food, and it's only open for lunch one day per year and the only thing they serve today is corned beef and cabbage and fish & chips. My husband went and got us take out. They make the BEST corned beef EVER, from roast, completely free of fat. I had it for lunch and…
  • Hello everyone. Hope you don’t mind if I join in and tell you a little about myself. I’d love to have some more friends that are kind of in my boat – if anyone wants to send a friend request, just tell me you saw me here! Im 53, married to the love of my life, and have one son, age 22, who lives in another state right now.…
  • Hello everyone. Hope you don’t mind if I join in and tell you a little about myself. I’d love to have some more friends that are kind of in my boat – if anyone wants to send a friend request, just tell me you saw me here! Name: Lilion Age: 53 Height: 5’10” (Start weight in December was 314, but not sure when that actually…
  • ACV is fantastic for a lot of things: If you microwave it, it makes your microwave easy to clean. (So does white - but apple smells better.) Mix it with olive oil and it makes a lovely furniture cleaner and polish. Diluted with water, it cured my dog's ringworm after three different prescription products failed. Really! I…
  • Great question. Even with a prescription potassium supplement, a multivitamin, and eating a banana every single day, I often don't hit 3500. In fact the only time I do is if I eat a substantial amount of potatoes...great reason to leave that carb in the diet! I have a terrible time getting enough potassium and protein for…
  • Virtually every day I have a serving of vanilla greek yogurt (I LOVE the brand Aldi's sells) with Kashi Go Lean (any variety) mixed in (about 1/2 of a serving). Sometimes I add berries. It's filling and gives you plenty of protein for the morning, though it'll be over your calorie goal, topping out at around 300.
  • I hate that you never got any members to this group. I did WW 10 years or so ago and lived on those boards. I actually DID lose 100...then gained most of it back. :( I actually have FB friends who are from those boards. Did you find a group that worked for you?
  • My job is SO sedentary. Literally, I'm on the phone or typing 8 hours a day plus an hour for lunch. If I didn't have to pee and get coffee I'd never move. The coffee maker is even within 10 steps from my office. I've dropped my step goal to 7500 and I make it...but it's close. Before buying a fitbit 2 weeks ago, I would…
  • What a fantastic change. (Not to mention an awesome little red dress.) Great job.
  • Did you know they are coming out with a new Alta HR? I just got the Charge 2 and kind of wish I'd waited for the Alta, since it's smaller and more "womanly". Apparently it does all the things the Charge 2 does, and I really like my Charge 2.
  • Thanks! That was exactly what I needed to know. I knew the fat "goal" shifts with exercise as it's based on a percentage of total calories, but I wasn't sure where the number came from when the only one showing was the saturated. Now I know.
  • Totally not a runner and me in shorts is not something anyone wants to see...BUT...if you can't deal with an elastic waist take them to a seamstress and have a drawstring put in. You can add a drawstring to anything VERY easily. If you don't want to spend the money on a seamstress, I'm sure that's something you could do…
  • Hi Susan. We sound a lot alike, except I've NEVER been slim! At the moment I'm about 305, down from 312. My goal is a simple 200. Then we'll see if I can go lower. I've not been under 200 since my very early 20's; I'm now 53. At 5'10", it's not hard to pull off a healthy 200 lbs. My husband is, sadly, much slimmer - a…
  • I literally asked my dietician about this hours ago. She said the worst thing about artificial sweeteners is that, for SOME people, they make them crave sweets. They have no redeeming features, but they don't hurt you. They don't affect blood sugar. They don't make you fat. If you want a Diet Coke, go for it.
  • Hello everyone. I am somewhat ashamed to say I have lost 100 lbs...and gained back 84. As of December I was at 312. I'm back to 305 now. I never thought I'd ever see that 3 again when I lost before. That was about 2007 or so. It had taken two years. The first 70 actually came off pretty fast, just less than a year. The…
  • Coffee is where I get half my potassium allowance! Well, not half, but it does add up and I have a terrible time getting enough unless I eat potatoes at every meal. So, coffee it is.
  • Thank you SO much! I don't know why, when I did a search, it didn't show. :( But, as it turns out the one I wanted to see isn't there. I must of done something wrong, maybe forgot to hit "post reply" when I did it. Ah well.
  • I love donuts. Seriously, I love donuts more than any reasonable person ought to love donuts. I love yeast donuts and cake donuts and old fashioned sour cream donuts and...glazed croissants. OMG, glazed croissants. Satan invented them just to tempt me to gluttony. I find it's easier to avoid foods if they aren't on my…
  • I really wish MFP would make this a feature. It would be so much simpler to have friends be able to not only view your diary but your recipes and log them or import them to their own diary.
  • I just joined this site yesterday. You have made me want to stay.
