@katharmonic - as you claim it is just "for fun" (masochist) without any expectation, continue doing what you do, and see where it gets you during the HM, you can always make it a run/walk session if/when required

So when I do look at all these addicts talking about 50K/100K runs, I must be missing a trick or 20, for me the HM distance is (probably) as far as I am willing (which is different from capable I guess) to go ... as mentioned before, one day i might become a runner, but not if that is the standard. @ournakedbarefootrunner…

Personally I do not think so, you learned the recipe during the weight loss, and I sort of have adopted it as a "way of life", which is why i not see this as a diet. I have been on the same "weight group" (I have got a weight range to keep to) for almost 2 years now, without any issues

How much are you aiming to shed? also "It just seems like I'm making a lot of sacrifices for this, not going out with friends, not enjoying dinners at restaurants and all for nothing." - you are not making sacrifices for "this", but for a "healthier you" - this does not mean having to stop living - the key-word is…

Positives,* 66lbs is more manageable than 200lbs (which I read in the title) * You have arrived at the right site, where a lot of people are able to support you * You have started eating clean It is nor rocket science either, it just takes commitment, and you can do it if you really want it. Good luck

Well, in the end, if you want to enjoy life you start with yourself. If you cannot be happy with yourself, how can you move on from there. \the same applies to your friend though. So if you can both accept each other (and support each others wishes), than it is a happy match, if you can't, you need to look at either ways…

Lol, when running it is not a turd anymore ... let's change the conversation
-
@Elise4270 & @MobyCarp - thanks for the tips ... not that it will take the concern away, but it might help with the urge :) (or the lack thereof)

-
because we are human, and try to out-think ourselves ...
-
actually, you might find the start of the 2nd activity "interesting", but once the muscles warm-up you should feel a lot better (or that might be just me)

wow. this seems to be rediscovered :) ... 2 weeks to go till my first HM ... stay injury-free and keep running :)
-
I think I am ready for the HM in 2 weeks time. Only got one very big concern, which is a #2 facilities urge during the run :s ... doh
