@tmcoyle That sounds like the perfect way to welcome in the new year! Have fun.

@crimsongrey Sorry to hear your horses have been under the weather. Dang cold weather anyway. Glad you are able to get back on track again!

@Here4Cookies Its hard to cook much on work days. I like to keep Whole Foods around that I can just cut up or steam. Apples and broccoli are my favorites. When I do have time I try to make something healthy that lasts a few days like a soup.
-
@crimsongrey I enjoyed watching one of the eventing videos yesterday. Exhilarating and inspirational! Thanks for posting.

Here we go into week 4. I'm going to mix up my exercise a bit this week. My hubby gave me some snowshoes for Christmas and boy do we have snow to shoe in! There's a snowshoe event I want to do next month too so I need to work up to it a bit.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

@crimsongrey Keep going. You are awesome and an inspiration.

@ crimsongrey Bet those pony club kids would love to put some pics of themselves and their horses on the stall doors. We didn't do any lights. I'm with you on avoiding any fire hazards. Mm, hot cocoa! @jlyle73 Sounds like a fun group. How nice.

Week 3 was pretty good except the overindulgence in holiday goodies. They're everywhere! I did do my 3 yoga workouts and meditation as well as daily stall cleaning and lots of walking at work. Man, I want to ride. Can't wait for spring.

We had a Christmas dinner for the extended family Wednesday. Christmas Day will be with our adult kids and our new granddaughter! I'm looking forward to it.

Some things that come to mind: Go on a horse related vacation, maybe see the Spanish Riding School in Vienna or take my horse to the ocean. Have a show of my paintings. I paint in watercolors.

Good points made in these articles. Riding has so many great benefits mentally and physically. Thanks for posting them.

@ showjumper Lol. I'll have to look into those.

My boarding stable had a movie night a few years ago where everyone brought their favorite movie. What a great idea I thought.
-
@jmbmiholland I read most of those same books as a kid. Fuel for my horse obsession when not riding. Lol. Also read Horse People. It was a gift from a friend...Entertaining.
-
That's right...Tomorrow is a new day.
-
Awesome video! Core strength and then some.

Week 3 plan will continue to be 3 yoga sessions with meditation, walking the dog or walking at work and lastly to continue to meet my calorie goal while focusing on fruit and vegetable intake.
-
@crimsongrey Similar weather here. You still got a lot of rides and exercise in! I will be going to Aiken with you in spirit. Lol The owners of my old boarding stable moved to Aiken after their indoor arena collapsed under the snow load a few years back.

I'm counting week 2 as a win. Did 3 yoga sessions, 12,000 steps in on my work nights and started meditation daily. Only thing horse related sadly was cleaning stalls.
-
@crimsongrey I have been trying to eat Within my calorie goal and focus on healthy oils and load up on fruits and veggies and fish as much as possible. My employer has a health website that has eating and exercise challenges to help improve lifestyle habits. One of the challenges was to go Mediterranean and had great…

@Here4Cookies Welcome. The stars have finally aligned for you and your horses! Hurray!
-
@showjumper It was very awesome! My mare is 17 and pretty chill most of the time but she was the instigator today. Lol

I'm getting yoga in nearly everyday now that I have set goals. Strange how that works. I'm adding meditation with a goal of doing it daily too. Found a great free app called Breathe. It's a good way to create some space for self. Can't wait for winter to be over and get back to riding. The horses were having a fun time…
