I CUT MY WHITE SUGAR WITH A RAZOR BLADE AND A MIRROR AND U NEED SOME STRAWS TOO OMG I NEED SOME MORE SUGAR BRB

not quite. 50g worth of carbs in oatmeal or quinoa would be the same in weight amount as the 50 grams in 50g of pure sucrose (table sugar). but your body will process the two in vastly different ways; not so much in terms of a weight gain or weight loss way, but more in terms of…

nice, OP reminded me of this: _

today i blended together 1 cup cooked cold brown rice, 1 scoop protein powder , half cup milk, 4 teaspoons sugar, and some cardamom. it was so filling, i was satiated for like 2 hours. very high in carbs + protein, maybe try something similar?

lol i just ordered a digital one from amazon a few days ago, for smaller things like peanut butter and nutella, etc. I'm PRETTY sure my "tablespoons" are more like ladles right now, cuz its so hard to level off a tablespoon of nutella. When the scale arrives and I see what 15g looks like I'm about to be disappointed :'(

^ THIS times a hundred

yep use this little bad boy here all the time I would have no idea whether or not I'm meeting my macros (esp carbs) without it. Eyeballing and guesstimating isnt even remotely close sometimes. everyone should invest in one

thanks so much, means a lot

today i blended together cooked brown rice (it was cold from fridge), cold half cup of milk, 1 vanilla protein powder scoop, 2 teaspoon sugar, and some cardamom. made a nice little rice pudding, it was filling, tasty, and has more than about 23g carbs, and 25g protein.

i have this one at home, http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HBF-514C-Composition-Sensing-Monitor/dp/B0020MMCDE But i'll be honest, they aren't really all that helpful...it will show drastically different numbers depending on how full your stomach is, or if you've taken a dump not too long before weighing, or if you've just sweat…

i use this cool device called the mirror, and pinching with fingers (cant tell instantaneous approximation, but great for monitoring progress over time lol)
-
lol, but in all seriousness, this: http://www.muscleandfitness.com/workouts/workout-routines/ultimate-6-week-home-workout haven't stepped in a gym for past 5 years
-
reading the post's title was quite an exercise
-
nice nice. make peanut butter, potatoes and brown rice your best friends  and thanks lol
-
any progress? managed to add on 5lb in about 3 weeks here
-
yes, cold water doesn't indeed can't make you lose not weight

as a medical student, i can say that none of those things "cause" it, but excess sugar (and any other simple carb in excess) certainly increases your chances of developing it, whether or not there is a genetic predisposition. if there IS a genetic predisposition, then even more chances of winning that bad lottery.

haha yea, thankfully I have the absolute opposite of a sweet tooth...cant stand sweet stuff ugh. last time i had ice cream...maybe a half a year ago?

^ music to my ears heh

true, but as a healthy 24 year old who lifts a lot and is trying to gain more muscle mass, i kind of have to eat a lot of good complex carbs, which i do
-
it just showed up there by default lol, i dont track it. but I do keep an eye on it occasionally since diabetes runs rampant in my family
-
true, right now even i don't "mind", but i certainly would care about going over carbs in a few weeks when its cutting time lol, can't keep that mentality up at that time so i might as well get used to it starting early now. and i guess you're right about entries with bad data. don't see how else there can be such a…

there's a huge amount of middle ground between being aware of them and being ridiculously bang on with em lol
-
oh good idea!! why didnt i think of that, better than chips which i ended up eating :\ nice find!! thanks for that, im going to make use of it =)
-
HAH. maybe someone will tell me to stop cultivating and start harvesting
-
ooh PB in shakes, never thought of that! I blended an avocado in there once, i know, sounds nasty, but surprisingly didn't really alter the taste and made it so creamy smooth. doesn't hurt that they're dense in calories and high in good healthy fats too. going to try the peanut butter in my cookies n cream whey shake…
-
lol same ratio but half, about 5 lbs by month end. brown rice, potatoes, peanut butter and nutella are my best friends for the time being =D
-
hmm thanks, peanut butter makes sense...calorie dense and relatively high in fat; im always falling behind in that (not that its a bad thing)...maybe I'll have sandwiches with a dollop of peanut butter on one toast and a big gop of nutella on the other YUM
