When I first saw this thread, getting below 200 meant a loss of 54.6 pounds... Now, it's only 4.1! (Add 5 more to that, and I'll just be 'overweight.')

For the last 7 (8? 9?) years, I have had a casual knock-around uniform of ugly men's cargo shorts and short-sleeve v-neck t-shirts. (In cooler weather, substitute Capris or corduroys and long sleeves...) Over the years, I've bought the shorts in 3 progressively larger sizes, and I am sure that, if I had not started my…

Joint pain. (Left hip especially, but also knee, shoulder, wrist.) I love taking my dog for long walks, but sometimes, I just can't. 'Rest' days are hard on both of us! I thought that losing weight would help (I'm 50 down out of 95 or so), but it hasn't really - It's just swapped what hurts when. I don't think I'm going to…

Hey, Guys, I'm back in the US, and ready to get back to our challenges! Over my 11 1/2 weeks in Europe, I ate All the Things (and drank all the bieres) - and logged everything as best I could. I paid attention to how my body was feeling, and how my clothes fit... I managed to lose over a half-pound per week, without really…

I think the MFP system is better, as it gives you a more rounded and realistic idea of what you are eating, and encourages 'better' choices. (Can't tell you how often I've heard "No way I am going to eat a banana for 2 points, if I can have 2 Kisses instead!" ) To me, MFP is also more sustainable in the long run.

Maybe - Though I spent most of it on a TransAtlantic flight, then another chunk crossing half the country, followed by a long drive home. When I finally escaped, I was tired!

Welcome! All you need to do is Copy the first post into a new 'Reply', cut out the extraneous nonsense, add your own info, and post. You'll do the same thing each week, after you weigh in. (I recommend that you copy your post onto a blank document on your computer, so that you don't have to hunt to find it for your next…

Hi, I'm Elizabeth. I joined MFP in late January and lost 42 pounds (out of 95 or so) before heading off on the trip of a lifetime... My husband and I both turned 50 this year, and we decided to make our own mid-life-crisis sabbatical. Along with our 12-and 15-year-old daughters, we bought train passes, packed carry-ons,…

Hi, I'm Elizabeth. I joined the group yesterday, and just posted an intro in the New Members thread. Looking forward to our journey together!

Little changes add up to big changes! Try small things... Keep the ones that work for you, then add new ones. Revisit things you've rejected a while down the road. Before you know it, you'll have a new lifestyle, a new outlook, a new you! Not to be a downer, but surgery really isn't a weight loss miracle: It just forces…

Oh! and I'm a desk-job work-from-home person, too.

When I am at home, I try for 10,000 every day. I'm traveling through the 12th, though, and my time really isn't my own until then, so it varies a lot. (Plus I'm fighting a nagging hip injury -- Am trying to take it easy when that goes from 'ache' to 'pain!') Yesterday, I hit 1000 miles walked since starting with my Fitbit…

Hi, I'm Elizabeth. New challenge for me - Yay! I'm fighting a nagging hip injury, so I'm going to reach for 1500 minutes this month. I'm on vacation through the 12th. Until I get home, I will use Fitbit 'Active Minutes.' After that, it'll be Endomondo logging hikes/walks and the stopwatch I set for dance class...

Two for me, today: First - I've been using my Fitbit since January 18th. As of this afternoon, I have officially walked over 1000 miles. Second - Standing at the train station, my daughter ran her finger up and down my arm. Finally, I asked her what she was doing. "Playing with your muscle," she said. What?!? Elder…
