You are definitely not alone! I’m in the same boat with you! We can certainly help each other one day at a time.

I'm no expert, but I believe some of the statements would be true if caloric intake would be drastically cut. I believe no one should ever eat less than 1500 calories even if it means weighing a little bit more. Some people tend to cut down too much, and I can see where that would do something to you mentally. I'm sure…

When my doctor, that never has discussed my weight, came in and started talking about weight loss surgery! When I said "hell no" he suggested diet pills. He knows I have a history of atrial fibrillation and insomnia, yet he prescribes me a stimulant. I was appalled. I am going to show everyone what I can do for myself…

I'm sorry to hear that. My husband does that to me. He says he wants me to lose weight, but as soon as I get serious and stick to my journaling he wants to stuff me with food. He then starts this "Well if you don't eat any, I won't either" thing and starts pouting.

I would love to join! My name is Robin, I’m 61 and need to lose 100 pounds.

I have the same delimma! I have a lot to lose (100 pounds) and right now I’ve been starving by the end of the day! I shouldn’t be on my caloric allotment. I’m sure it’s because I’m a carboholic and don’t like protein based foods. I don’t like cottage cheese but yogurt is ok. I like eggs and most meats, but I don’t eat much…

Thanks everyone. I appreciate all of your input!

SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!! My goodness, what a transformation! You have a beautiful family and I'm glad you will be more able to enjoy happy times with them.

You look amazing! The kidding comes from pure jealousy :)

BMI is crap. Period. Weight has absolutely nothing to do with health, but fitness does. You can be thin and unfit.

Sodium and fluid from all of that processed food!

Even though our life circumstances are different, I can understand. I had a bad day today with my eating. I generally stay within my calories, but I allow myself some calories to have a snack at bedtime. I can't sleep when I'm hungry either. I overate today because of stress, and now I feel like crap. My stomach hurts and…

If I don't LOVE it, I don't eat it! That includes fat free, sugar free and all that nonsense. I use and eat REAL food, just not as much. If I had one thing I tried and hated it would be cottage cheese.

I don't know your situation, but are you trying to lose too much? 1200 calories is way too low for anyone. I know I'll get flack for this, but it's true. Better to be heavier and well nourished. My doctor said that those BMI charts should be trashed. Everyone is different, and you can't go by the scale. It's how you feel…

I totally agree with RaeBeeBaby on this one! WW is a scam, and I have fallen for it myself. I truly believe they want people to stay fat so they will keep on signing up. This really dawned on me when they started their stupid “freestyle “ program! You know there are people out there that are going to eat five bananas and…

My doctor, who is a very wise and intelligent man, says that you can't judge with a scale what size you should be. He doesn't even like me to weigh myself, but to go by how I feel and how my clothes fit. People are not cookie cutters and if you count your calories and are honest about it, your body will eventually land on…

Some kind of dessert like pie or cake. Then I feel like crap afterwards! It's never as good as you think it's going to be.

Good advice!

I have said "I can lose weight, but there's nothing you can do about ugly". People that are that rude don't deserve your time or worry.
-
I just went by the weight on the bag. Surely it is accurate, or at least you would think so! That's a good idea, but is the gram amount for frozen or cooked? That too is confusing.
-
Eat something. One bad day doesn't ruin everything! I would try to make it high protein, like maybe an omelet and some whole wheat toast. We've ALL been there!

I have just begun my weight loss efforts, and have lost twelve pounds in two months. 88 pounds to go! However, I have heard so many times that diets don’t work, and I should just eat “mindfully”. I regained a 120 pound weight loss, so you can see what that did for me! However, I’m scared to death that I will regain after…

Great advice! I always felt guilty if I ate out and didn't know how to count my food. I think I'll do better to relax and enjoy instead of feeling guilty!
-
My husband telling me that I'll never lose the weight, and then telling me "You're not eating enough".
-
Thanks everyone for sharing your stories! I am inspired by how well you have done! I think we need to ignore the naysayers that say we will always gain it back. You have shown that success can be a life long achievement!

This was amazing to read. I lost a lot of weight (140lbs.) twenty years ago, and proceeded to gain it all back. Now here I am again. I understand so much of what you said about not being happy and no longer being the life of the party. I had friends that told me that I had become a b--ch after I lost the weight. I guess I…

Good for you! You should be very proud of your accomplishment!

You aren't going to be perfect all the time. That's no way to live! Enjoy your vacations, and start back fresh when you get home. Even if you had gained, it's not a tragedy.

Believe me, I did this one time when I was "dieting" on my own. I lost weight, but it came back with a vengeance! It is true that your body will survive by holding on to every calorie if it thinks you are starving. Stay at a healthy level of loss. One pound per week is optimum.

WW is too restrictive and I wasn't losing weight on it anyway. I didn't like using up a half day's points on a bagel! MFP has a great database, and I find it much easier to count the calories. I do try to eat a balanced diet and watch my portion sizes.
