:o Was it sheer surprise which prevented you from walloping him with your barbell? That one's right up there with "Little pickers wear bigger knickers", which is the phrase of choice in our office!

After coworker (who currently does *no* exercise) commented on my weight loss... Me: thanks, I'm only a kilo away from a healthy BMI Coworker : you know, you should do 5 mins of running at the end of your gym session. I've done jogging and that helped me lose weight Me : I hate running Coworker : well if you want to lose…

I read somewhere that your daily bmr reduces by 100 cals per decade due to loss of lean body mass. That might not sound like much but a daily 100 calorie surplus equates to gaining 10lb per year. During my 20's and 30's I've lost enough weight that I should be hanging from a charm bracelet by now. I've tried every fad diet…

Our stomachs don't have calorie sensors to tell us when we've had enough, but volume sensors. By eating food with less cals per gram you can still feel full on less calories.

That's super importantly hilarious!

Sounds eggstreme - I hope you're yolking.

I'm not following any eating plan that tells me I shouldn't eat bacon. Nobody needs that kind of negativity in their life.

Fitbit one Fitbit aria scale Trendweight Zombies run Audible (for listening to audiobooks in between zombie interruptions) Saw someone at the gym using Adrian James abs app at the weekend so thinking of downloading that too.

Don't worry, I'm sure nobody noticed! Last June I dropped a 15kg plate on my big toe in the gym. I was so embarrassed that I tried to pretend it hadn't happened. I carried on with my workout - my foot was throbbing so hard but I was determined to be nonchalant about it. I spent the rest of that day with my foot up and an…

Thank goodness that fad has passed - it's way too science-based, long term and reliable. I want my weight loss magic bullet, darn it!!

Weight training has helped me to achieve a more balanced look - my hips and waist are smaller than when I started but my shoulders are a bit bulkier so I look more in proportion. I've lost 3 jean sizes from a UK16 to a UK10, weight wise I've lost 7kg. My thighs have only gone down by a couple of cm but they've changed…

You are my hero! :D This is the best thread since Cheerio-gate.

@hillcrestbaby - I'm going to extend dry January (although it's February!) and make sure I hit 70k steps per week to help me reach my goal. Yesterday we had three teenage girls lounging around on the mats with their mobile phones - for 40 minutes. This meant nobody could use the mats for stretching or ab work and as the mats are under the TRX frame, nobody could effectively use that either. So I went over and did some hanging knee raises from the trx frame and…

Yes, a few people see it as a real threat for some reason. Lucky we have these boards to celebrate our successes.

I know exactly what you mean. Two of my closest friends have said *absolutely nothing* about my change in shape. I know I can't expect everyone to notice but it's pretty obvious - people who see me every day have commented so surely it should be noticeable to people I only see every month or so. I shouldn't allow other…

I don't accept friend requests from anyone who doesn't give me a reason and most of my friends are female but one of my "female" mfp friends turned out to be anything but! Some other ladies had been sharing progress pics which he greatly appreciated!

I haven't met many foods I didn't like but.... Celery - really not worth the effort. Tofu - a very weird texture, even for me!

I do this too! I bought ours for my husbands birthday in August and we both use it every day.

Another vote for the panache here (I'm 32g). Best sports bra ever - and I've gone through a fair few!

Weightlifting is the best! You all look awesome ladies!

Yes anything sweet for me - chocolate, pastries, cake, biscuits, cookies, ice cream. Can't stop once I've started so I have to not start in the first place but there's tubs of chocolates everywhere in my office right now as it's so close to Christmas, which is really testing my resolve!
