  • @baconslave answers would be a great thing wouldn't they? Thank you for adding your knowledge and experiences.
  • It's certainly wonderful to see changes in our bodies! I'm glad you can now use regular jewellery Carly. I can see definition of veins and tendons in the back of my hands and the tops of my feet now that I couldn't before. The veins look really big but I just got off the treadmill so perhaps they'll shrink to lady-like…
  • Thank you everyone, I really appreciate all the thinking and input, I'm finding this really interesting. Coconut milk is my answer to what to have in coffee. As long as you get a palatable brand, it's creamy and zero carb or protein, just good healthy fats. Most brands are nice. There's one brand I truly can't take, and…
  • @Carly that's interesting. I was a milk addict (drank gallons of it) during my first pregnancy and that son is lactose intolerant. My second son is fine. So I've abused dairy, though admittedly a long time ago, and there is intolerance in the family. Good thoughts!
  • I don't know @totaloblivia, I'm throwing my thoughts out there to see if anyone else has similar tales. It was either true that it did, or there was some other circumstance that I haven't yet seen. I'll continue on my (probably hopeless) quest to nail jelly to the wall, but I'm enjoying the journey of trying ;)
  • No worries o:)
  • I understand re fatty meat, I'm only just getting there myself with that. But is spreading butter on things an option? Cold and hard, or melted gives you 2 options to manage one of - hopefully? Or is there something you like butter on that can be added to 1 or 2 meals? I've seen somewhere that people mix heavy cream with…
  • Oh gosh, that doesn't sound a fun experience. I drink instant coffee with coconut *milk* in it. Is instant coffee an option for you? I have had coconut milk in tea and it's not all that brilliant. I'm imagining that coconut oil would be worse still. It takes a little while to learn how to easily reach your macros each day…
  • The road pretty well runs out north of you doesn't it? Love the loop that it does at Port Douglas! We hope to do the Grey Army one day and I was just looking at the road from Normanton to half way between Port Douglas and Mareeba, it looks really daunting for towing a caravan, but I guess thousands do it every year. I…
  • I hate to think what your prices are like, it's bad enough here in suburbia, though Perth is probably the worst city because of our isolation. Not counting poor Darwin, eeek! Roll on Aldi is all I can say. I've heard rumours we'll be getting our first this year and I hope it's not south of the river :D I shop IGA most of…
  • Hi IADR I've had the opposite problem and have been feeling hotter since going keto (all through the Australian summer, which hasn't been very helpful ;)) However, looking at your diary for 'so far Tuesday', and Monday you don't seem to be eating very much 'real food' if you'll excuse the term. Pepperoni, diet drinks and…
  • Oh wow Jane, how awesome to read about your trip and look at the map to see where you went! I see what you mean about the dis-located Oman 'tip'. How odd! Maybe it's too mountainous and nobody could be bothered fighting to take it? I can see some degree of colour change in the sands from the GoogleEarth view, it looks…
  • Oh wow!!! We've shopped a few times at Woolies lately because they gave me some flybuy offers, and their mineral water is *really* cheap. But David buys their mixed 'natural' nuts. He eats *massive* quantities of them too, so I shall check out what they've been charging, we do keep all of our dockets. Thanks Kuranda. I…
  • You've yet to offend or frustrate me @wabmester I recognise a fellow enquirer. I'm just perhaps more eager to attribute Cause A with Outcome B than I should be, and you're keeping the Patience Hat on ;) I haven't finished with the experimentation and am of course happy for other opinions along the way. There will be more…
  • I know this is a bit out of left field, but sometimes if food has upset me I only need to hold the container to have a physical response to it. Can you just hold the container of oil, then hold some chicken and see if your body will 'tell you' which item it was? Sounds a lot like it was the oil though - yuk!
  • @Minties I understood what you meant. Probably pretty much the same as me when I mentioned my grandchildren. We want to be there 'for them' to love them and guide them, which is the ultimate gift to ourselves by enjoying their love and to have the personal pleasure of gifting love to others. Not at all through any kind of…
  • Awesome replies everyone, thank you! @wabmester yes, I wasn't attributing the gain to anything specific (like fat), just wondering what (if anything traceable) caused a gain. Or maybe a post menopausal woman just isn't capable of losing weight consistently without a rebound. Pretty much back up to the start weight for that…
  • Wow, they *** out an English word for cigarette? It was 'f a g' sorry MFP, you've no business interfering with that. I guess slim knee caps are always boney in appearance. OK standing up, just boney when you sit.
  • Sleep well @Kitn <3 I love maps too Karlotta, they're fascinating. And yes, only 2 ways to get east by road, or 1 by rail - or fly. 5 hours flight to Sydney, 3½ to Adelaide or Melbourne, 5½ to Brisbane (and all of them longer on the way back). The northern road route is usually part of the grande circuit, traditionally…
  • Thanks dear Karlotta, yes, it's 10.30am Tuesday here and we're just starting our day. We go to bed around 1 or 2am because of David's shifts. He's an evening bus driver, public transport. He starts work around 3pm (it's different every day) and finishes around midnight or 1am. We love it and share our mornings together…
  • There was a big move here to call them erasers for some years, but my grandchildren 9, 7 and 6 are all calling them rubbers again. And yes, here at least, children use pencils until Year 4 (age 9). *kitten* is another word that changes across the Atlantic. In Britain it's slang for a cigarette. I believe in New York it…
  • I've experienced this too Jane. I've been eating 2 meals a day on LC because that's all I want, and I'm sure it's fine as long as you're tracking and can see that you're maintaining 'sufficient' calories most days. The past 4 days I was sooo hungry and I did eat more. And weight fell off me the way it does for younger…
  • So pleased that you took time for what you needed to do @Kitn <3 Really happy for you that this WOE is giving your relief @Karlotta <3 I ate cheese yesterday and have had my first weight gain since I stopped eating dairy. Interesting! Not what I wanted to discover thank you very much ;) but interesting. Going to be brave…
  • I just started a thread about this. But *why* does cheese produce weight gain?
  • Or commerce either, if my high school French rumour was correct.
  • Oh, I have taken all of this in a spirit of fun @totaloblivia, please don't worry <3 I always forget that 'British' includes everyone. When I lived there, I could say that I was English/born in England and nobody thought anything of it. The compulsorily inclusive 'Britain' came after I left. LOL some international words…
  • It does, thank you Wheatless. My skin has gone quite dry though, which I find odd. Glad you've figured out that the avocado was a problem and you're better off with your eggs and sausage. We're all different and have to find our own idiosyncracies. Life could be simpler LOL
  • @Spush and @totaloblivia, maybe I got my countries back to front then - it's possible. I haven't interacted with durex sticky tape for around 40 years. Oh well, I tried LOL. And I reckon you can add the Scots and Welsh to the modest and retiring as well. Even the Aussies, in their own particular way. Anyone singing their…
  • Oh @Fi gosh that's funny, though I'm sorry to hear you have that extra work to do. That's what you get for having such beautiful lush, dark hair! My hair is so ho hum and my eyelashes are skin coloured so that I always 'have to' wear mascara or I don't look as if I have any at all.
  • @Jane I just love your whole concept and I think you are both very clever. A friend of mine here in Oz makes raw vegan chocolate so I should hook you up with her if you would have a market for that niche product. You and hubby are both very creative! As to my craft time, well I no longer work and I’m spoiled rotten in that…
