  • @NovusDies thank you, yes it was hard and very sad for the life that he never had (even though he was in his mid-40s). He'd always had his medical problems. And no, nothing wrong with me. I'm at the top of the overweight category, but used to be obese for most of my adult life. I'm fit and strong and my blood markers were…
  • @missysippy930 I don't know what 'damage' I've done, just that I would prefer to take my blood test after being keto again in case I get high readings for cholesterol or blood sugar. I had a rather high fasting blood sugar reading about 10 years ago, but had always been fine since being keto. @NovusDies No, the doctor…
  • Thank you very much Sabine <3 Oh gosh retirehappy that's a real surprise - thank you <3 Canadjineh oh lovely, you're still here! <3
  • Hi Carolo, I was like that on keto too. Did it for a year and lost around 6 kilos (13 pounds). This year I've been doing Dukan, which is very similar to keto (I still am in ketosis, just eating less fat than before) and have lost 5 kilos already. I'm 60 and obviously post menopausal as well. I'm going to be sticking to…
  • Is this group still active? I've been doing Dukan since 23rd January and loving it.
  • We're taking mother out to lunch today. Neither of us feel like it, but it should keep her off our backs for the next 2 weeks until her surprise 80th birthday party. The party is putting me through my emotional paces. Making decorations and a photo board, making sure everything will be lovely and a credit to…
  • @Marney Yes, I can see the problem in only having one small screen to read and reply. Unless you’re really keen on scrolling up and down and remembering where you’d got to eeeek! LOL I love being retired too, but there are never nearly enough hours in the day. I have just begun my housework binge after being away and…
  • A quick poll - what device do you use to read and reply to this thread... Desktop or laptop computer iPad, Tablet or such Smart phone If it's more than one thing please specify. I use a laptop (strictly speaking, but it's) set up with an ergonomic keyboard and 3 monitors, so when I reply I have the thread on the centre…
  • @Janice Thank you yes, the holiday was lovely. Your break sounds well-deserved and I’m so pleased you’ve enjoyed the down time, and dim sum (I’ve never had that). You sound so perky and happy and I’m so thrilled for you <3 Your building sounds as if it was badly designed in the first place; or something. Architects and…
  • To try to catch up just a little… @Janice I can’t tell you how happy and relieved I am that true friend has stepped in to help you at work. This man has obviously seen the total… aarrggghhh… of the way you’ve been treated and is a true angel. And not an ‘angel in disguise’ one either; it’s obvious to one and all that he’s…
  • Oh Kathie :'( I use writing as a healing and understanding tool - sounds like you do too. I think getting things sorted and written down is the best start towards healing. I do hope you can reach that place quickly. But after all is said and done, you were one person, working your heart out. Not only alone but hindered at…
  • Heya Kathie. I do hope everything went well overall, and I really hope you did get a hug or something for all your work. As long as it went well and you could enjoy yourself though! Time to get a new sister I reckon. I don't know why some people have to be so negative and unsupportive - how ridiculous!
  • A tiny wave of the tip of a flag - hello gorgeous ladies!!! <3 And welcome to our new girls too. Thank you for first names so that we can be more friendly, and don't forget to let us know your birthday so we can all send you some extra love on Your Day as well. We got home from our holiday this arvo, but have had our son…
  • @Donna welcome to our group! You deserve applause for having got through over 1,100 messages, wow! You really have been through a lot, gosh! I truly hope that this WOE, and this group of friends, can help you to achieve all you wish for. And congrats on the new guy and the job, that's awesome. @Ellen thank you so very…
  • @Jane thank you so much for the birthday wishes. Was woken at 8am (by appointment, and they were really good!) by my 2 granddaughters who had spent the night. They sleep on mattresses on the floor in our room, but creep out quietly when they wake and play for a while before waking us up. They'd been in the living area…
  • Oh Ellen, you described it perfectly and that truly does make sense! Thank you so much. I always like to understand the 'who, what, when, where, why' of everything - and the 'how' too, but it doesn't fit in that list ;) Thank you <3 And I will miss you all too but yes, truly looking forward to just being selfish and not…
  • Oh gosh, I’m so behind again. Should just stop kidding myself that I will ever be able to reply to everyone and move on ;) @Ellen, I am *so* happy and relieved to hear that the Heart Calm seems to be helping you and you’re getting some sleep, and fewer palpitations. Here’s hoping it will continue to help you more and more!…
  • @Kathie I hope you're managing to have some peace today. Not sure whether to share what went through my mind as I read your post. It was that I hope you won't expect any thanks from anyone for the herculean efforts that you've put into this because people who help so little, and care so little for those doing the work, are…
  • Hi Everyone, trying to behave myself with replying a little better – though there’s a weekend coming up with hubby, son and grandson all here LOL we’ll see how I go ;) @azcowgirrlup do you have a first name that you’re happy to share? And your birth day and month if you wish. I would so love to see hummingbirds in real…
  • Hi there Beautiful Ladies (best on the internet actually!) So sorry I've been missing. I find that the posts mount up over weekends that David's not working and then the prospect of replying to everyone is a bit scary LOL *Thank you* to dear @Jane for taking such time to do that! A hearty welcome from me to all the new…
  • I'm sending you every wish that this works dear Ellen. You've been far more patient and determined than anyone I've ever known.
  • G'day from Perth, Ebony. Do you think Oz Customs will allow it in? It's so annoying that our Amazon doesn't do food isn't it?
  • @Kathie I know you can reset your streak - if a Google search doesn't help you let me know and I'll see if I can find the destructions somewhere. I've never done it, but know you can. Hope you wind down and sleep well. @Liana I loved your reply to Goat about the cheese. You and me both! I found out last night that fried…
  • You know you have our support, no matter what you choose Goat.
  • The coconut milk is in our supermarket (the usual, everyday one). It used to be in the health food section, but they've moved it to the Asian foods section now, as @KnitOrMiss said. Indian markets, Asian markets, are apparently a lot cheaper, but I don't have time for shopping around.
  • @CoconuttyMummy I'm in Australia so obviously have different products but my coconut milk (tinned) is zero carb, zero protein. I use 30 ml per cup of coffee and 3 cups equals 11g fat. I hope you can find one you like. The brands certainly differ in taste and behaviour. There's one brand I won't touch in winter because the…
  • Oh Rebecca :( I know how positive you always are and for something to have beaten you... I'm so very sorry. If you need an ear, I'm only a private message away. Failing that, please know our hearts are with you, trying to lift you from the mire <3 Hope you can 'get there' soon <3
  • Welcome @lmanes1 and thank you for sharing your story. Congratulations on all you've achieved so far, that's a fantastic achievement! @Karla it really is exciting to see how popular we are isn't it? (Or how chatty, but I think it's popular ;)) I'm so sorry for your dog's health, that's a bit of a challenge, but we love our…
  • I make curries with my coconut milk (or cream). A whole can between 2 of us and throw in curry powder, cumin, a few shreds of dried coconut, some onion and fish or prawns/shrimps. The jelly/jello sounds delicious too!
  • My diary is open. I don't 'do' Friends, but you should be able to view the diary without friending. I'm in Australia so some of the brand names (and foods?) may not mean much to you, but I pretty much each whole foods that need no explanation.
