Thank you for your help @Kate, I'll take it slow. I feel a heap better since I ate lunch and I think my too-low food intake recently was still leaving me lethargic. I thought I'd eaten enough and overcome that on Sunday, but these things take time and I was rushing. I was just starting to 'fade' again so I've eaten a…

I feel... I dunno... not myself today. Walked from the shopping centre carpark to, and around, the supermarket, then back to the car. That felt like enough today thank you very much. I did do Week 1 Day 3 of the pushup challenge first thing this morning but that's liable to be it for today. I think I still feel a bit…

I can understand you not wanting to mess around again @Kate Hopefully the extra fat and calories will help you and you'll get a wonderful surprise next time you're brave ;) I find that I've lost far more fat than the scales would suggest, so try to go by how you look and how your clothes fit. The scale isn't the be-all and…

Thank you Carly <3 I hope you get all this worked out soon, and successfully!

Mwah! ;) 22 hours to go for me...

Oh wow @Happylife that's fantastic news, congratulations! So happy about the weight loss *and* the fact that you can eat more to achieve it. Let's hope this continues! And thank you so much for your kindness, I just love being a part of this group.

Naaaww thanks @totaloblivia <3

So many beautiful ladies here (that’s all of you, don’t anyone think you’re excluded!). I love this thread (or anything else you choose to call it @Kate, we’re none of us tech snobs!). @Jane I mostly drink instant coffee with coconut milk in it. I drink tea when I go out because ‘flat white’ coffee is so high carb with the…

Thank you Goat. I ate until I was stuffed for dinner last night but still came in under calories according to the little message on my home page. Feeling more energised today though so I guess the extra was enough. Had an unexpected 4.5 km walk today in the mid-day heat after my car broke down. Half of the journey on a…

That's fantastic. My heartiest congratulations!

Mine loves to compete too, but he has a bung elbow from years using a chainsaw and a nail gun so he can't do this with me. Yes!!! It's too long isn't it? But I say this now. I suspect I may change my tune soon. @Kuranda Oh :( not looking forward to that then tee hee!

See how you go on the run Don. I wouldn't recommend running 2 hours away from home in case you find the 2 hours back too hard. It will take time to fat adapt and most people find that exercise is tiring during the adaptation period. I knocked myself backwards by not just taking a break and then starting again a couple of…

Thank you so much @Wheatless that's a real help. David will be home from work in half an hour (8pm) and we have leftovers for dinner. I will eat my full half of the meal and maybe grate some extra cheese to go on top. I did record what I thought I ate in full yesterday so there wasn't an unlogged meal, just probable…

I discovered that cream was giving me a weird lump in my throat feeling for my first couple of months low carb. It wasn't something I ate before, I always hated cream but got a sudden taste for it. But whatever it was it's passed. Can you give it a miss for a week or so and see what happens?

Wow, that's fantastic Risi, and yes, grandchildren are the most amazing gift on earth aren't they? 6 is incredible. I've only got 3; ages 9, 7 and 6. The youngest grandparent I ever heard of was John Cougar Mellencamp at 32 - now that's really going some!

I feel as if I've lost touch with sensible hunger today. I've had 2 days out of the last 3 where MFP gave me a 'too low' warning. I've had several meals lately where the recipe was shared amongst a number of adults and children (different sized serves) so I have absolutely no idea what 'my share' was to be able to log it…

Sounding good @Kate and yes, obsession is not the way to go for peace of mind. Pre-boiled eggs, pre-cooked bacon that he could microzap and eat without you having to prepare it for him for breakfast? Your sleep is important, as you already know. There are plenty of recipes to replace the carbs your husband loves, but it…

This thread certainly does sound encouraging. Can it be done with chicken, fish, pork, bacon and eggs do you think? And I remember reading 'some cheese' is OK. Not promising I'll get on board just yet, only considering options and getting my head around this. As a raw vegan from 2007-'09 this is the polar opposite ROFL I'm…

Here's a 'Kiwi' nutritionist telling her story of being trained wrongly and has now seen the light https://youtube.com/watch?v=51NS_RBW4tY I'm vaguely considering the meat challenge but the only 'red meat' I can eat so far is pork and bacon - otherwise I'm a chicken and seafood girl and I don't think that will cut it ;) I…

Tell her it'll build her bust and/or slim her waist, whichever she'd prefer to hear? o:)

Pretty sure I read Prof Tim Noakes saying that pemmican was what the Native Indians ate when out hunting. I wouldn't make it myself. My excuse is the huge fly population in Australia that would lay their eggs in it while it's drying, but it's just an excuse. Isn't beef jerky similar (and can be purchased instead of…

@Kitn @Karlottap @Jane @EllenThank you so much for your kindness <3 @Kitn oh wooooooooowwwwwww!!! Congratulations on your new tiny status! Isn't it odd that the scales move so slowly but the fat disappears at 'normal people' speed? I've really found that. I've 'only' lost 5 kgs, but I feel so much smaller than that. I'm so…

LOL A fair suggestion, but these all fit me fine when I was 5 kgs (11 lbs) heavier and I have most certainly lost fat around my midriff, so they should be loose if anything. They're not tight at all, it's just that the least resistance around there makes me feel as if I'm being chest-strangled and induces the feeling of…

All the best Don. I think we're all positive that you're going to love it, and see benefits.

Oh well. Laughing at/with or not, we're setting examples to them <3

One grandson is in bed and the 2 granddaughters have gone home (they stayed last night). @Jane I was 49 when I became a grandma! I hope you get to be one, I really do! One of my cousins had to use IVF for quite a while but now has a pair of beautiful twin girls who are 8. She was 40 when she had them, but started late to…

I forgot mine last night so did them this morning, complete with 9 and 6 year old granddaughters mimicking me. We were all laughing so hard we collapsed in a heap at the end. One had her bottom too low and the other too high. I *hope* I was doing it correctly in comparison LOL

Wow! I haven't had time to read the article but your post is really interesting, thank you. I feel exhausted after eating bread. I was such a bread addict for too many years so I wouldn't be surprised if I'd given myself an intolerance.

I was going to say what Dragonwolf said. Most of the v*gans I know eat a *stack* of grains, and tofu, and TVP - all foods that I believe to be 'bad'. I was an octo-pescetarian-chicken eater for around 30 years. I lived on bread. And sugar. It's a wonder I'm still alive.

@Wheatless thank you so much. No, the tightness isn't anxiety. I know all about anxiety and suffered really bad panic attacks for 27 years (to the point of vomiting and diarrhoea when they hit), so it's definitely not that. I'm grateful for the suggestion though in case that was the answer. It's weird - usually I can get…
