All the Aussie Amazon site has is books about it, which is no surprise to me at all. I can only see 'apps, games, books' as the sum of departments available! Now to try and find if our Customs would let it in if I order from the US or UK. Aahh, better still, I've found some on ebay that comes from Melbourne or Sydney (3½…

Thank you all so much! <3 @Kitn Yes, we will go to Mauricio for sure. Just waiting to see what the MRI shows, which involves seeing the surgeon again for interpretation. Though if there's a letter we'll copy it before handing it over ;) It's all going nice and fast because we see the surgeon again on Wednesday. He's a…

I enjoyed this little article. flexibleketogenic.com/2014/11/spiking-ketogenic-diet-for-further.html?m=0

Thank you so much Karlotta. We've always been really healthy, so know nothing at all about these things.

@Wheatless Yes, valerian is 100% herb, no artificial anything. And you may even find that after a while of learning to sleep well, you may be able to cut it out. It's non-addictive anyway. I used to take it years ago when I was suffering panic attacks. The doctor tried me on anti-depressants. He said "I'm not sure if these…

Yes Ellen, you *will* win!!! I should have taken a keto reading this morning really. My D-I-L invited me to stay for dinner when I dropped my 2 granddaughters off yesterday. She does that so rarely that I was honoured and happy, and stayed. It was chicken and sweetcorn soup with crusty bread and polyunsaturated margarine,…

Didn't Mama tell us to keep our knees together? Or is that just me in the older generation ;)

I was using tinned coconut milk in my coffee long before I'd even heard of low fat or keto. It's creamy and delicious and has a nice amount of fat for satiety.
-
Do let us know! I feel as if my thighs have lost some fat on this WOE and that is where I've always held most of my weight/fat. Even when I've occasionally and rarely been 'slim', they still sit there without change.
-
@Kate that's really awesome. On all counts!
-
I'll try that, thank you <3 LOL I know, I know, a guy can hope. But isn't it a woman's job to tease and not deliver? [Just joking, not opening up a topic for discussion.] Back to topic... Naawww that's too cute. I topple over backwards before the half-way point. Unless I wear heeled shoes. What is anyone's thoughts on…

I reckon I'm doing it like that. I can't get as low as her - her thighs are nearly parallel to the ground, but I'm more than half way to that. And I do lean further forward too, but hopefully flexibility will improve as I do them. Until now I'd been taught that my toes had to point straight forward, which reduced my…

Apparently, (my husband loves to pick on me mercilessly when I do squats) I don't squat low enough, I don't keep my back bolt upright and blahde blahde blah. But I did 50 straight off. My quads felt well used by the end of it, but I've had no muscle soreness since. I almost never get muscle soreness no matter what I do…

It's 'Way Of Eating'. You'll occasionally see WOL for 'Way Of Life' as well. Continue to ask - there are quite a few acronyms, so you may come across more you can't figure out. @Wabmester (mostly, but everyone in general). So, there has been some discussion on lowering fat intake because, once fat adapted, your body will…

Yes, we will see what happens and if it's good news I certainly may do this again. Sweet potato and peas have been wonderful to enjoy. Eeeeek I don't need ghrelin! It even sounds agressive doesn't it? LOL I had meant to take a ketone reading yesterday morning, but we had to rush out the door. David was seeing a surgeon…

Welcome @Hoopsgal Look like you know what you’re doing! I fully agree on the importance of sleep. Hope all goes to plan for you. @Jane yes indeed, cougar is the word :D @Kitn I’m so pleased that you have been able to feel comfortable about sharing your story. I think it’s so important to have trusted people to share with,…

I kind of did that on purpose, just for fun, so I'm glad it gave at least one person a smile ;) But yes, Ellen and I are both happily wed. A mere 40 years for me. @DonP I eat one or two squares of 72%, 80% or 90% chocolate a couple of times a week. It's just a taste that's for sure. BP before bed (1am) was 130/88 with 59…

Hello to all the beautiful ladies here. Thank you so much to everyone for your wonderful posts, they each bring so much to this group <3 and I smile and feel your joy, or I am sad with you and hope for everything to turn to good - and skinniness too! Love the cartoon Jane - that's about right! And your wedding photo is…

Understood *May is nodding* ;)

@Ellen Thank you. I haven’t dared take my BP, but I’ve hardly done anything except tidy and quick-clean the kitchen and paint my nails this evening. Made microwave scrambled eggs for dinner and generally not doing much. What the doctor ordered I think, and I’ll be bailing early and go to bed before David comes home today.…

@Wabmester I just read elsewhere that you said potassium is good for reducing blood pressure. The weird thing is that my 'heart palpitations' seemed always to be made worse whenever I ate or drank something with high potassium (a variety of supplements, and a couple of times even eating butter in a large quantity). Why…

Don't forget that, although they may be slim, they are probably not healthy. At least overweight folks, like me, know they need to fix something.
-
No, I don't. We can't buy them here that I know of, but I don't eat any of the equivalents that we can get.
-
Thanks @Wabmester - you can't take the book-keeper out of a girl when she finishes working. Well I took my BP before bed. Oh boy!!! Although it didn't scare the heck out of me like the first time I found it raised back in late Feb, I still had trouble falling asleep. And this morning was no better. I rang my naturopath who…

Dragonwolf wrote a new script and announced it in a post named something like 'Look what I made/did' but I can't find it!

That's encouraging Wheatless, congratulations. Staying the same is definitely better than putting on ;) I only log my weight when I have a drop to a new level. That's my preferred method anyway. Oh, thank you <3 I do love my facts and stats.

I got the BP machine out and have put it in a prominent place to take pre and post bed readings for a couple of days so stay tuned. I'm really having to force myself to eat the extra calories and carbs, which I'm finding very interesting. Didn't manage it yesterday. I'm about to have dinner tonight so I'll see what I can…

I'd love to @samko I used to do 100 most evenings but have let it go. I'd set the 'ping pong song' going and if you keep in time with that it's exactly 100 until the song ends LOL https://youtube.com/watch?v=rh4Tos_eo5A

Brazils have around 1 carb per nut as well. Cashews are dreadful. If I have nuts I will usually have 1 or 2 macadamias and a half walnut. It depends on your carb goal. If you're low, as I usually am (I aim for under 15) then they are a 'just a taste' food. It does seem odd doesn't it? I hope you make it comfortably for the…

LOL I know, Wabmester, never fear. Both the milk choc and the fudge were gifts, and the fudge won't be touched for at least a week, and truly 'mouse nibbled' when it is consumed. I'm up another 100 grams this morning, though yesterday's macros were the same as my usual plan, rather than the higher carb/calorie one. I just…
