I keep cals in check, but I also played with my macros till I found the configuration that worked for me. Soo I eat what I want within my cals while keeping my macros correctly balanced for my goals and adherence.

Cheese, eggs, avocado, full fat milk, nut butters, fatty cuts of meat, butter, cooking oils.... It dosnt take much, and if you want to enjoy something like ice cream or snickers just make sure you account for it.

It sounds like the things you crave are also high in fat. It is possible it isn't really the sugar you are craving but the fat. Do you get enough fat in your diet? I found when I upped my fats I had more control over my sugar cravings.

It helps with losing water weight. It also makes sure you are continuously hydrated. Many people confuse being thirsty with being hungry, so being hydrated can eliminate that confusion which can reduce the amount you snack.

I got asked by my brother to help his girlfriend realize her diet won't work till she actually tracks her intake and puts herself in a deficit. The problem is I think I'm going to enjoy giving her the tough talk more than I should. (I may have reservations about her and my brother)

Stay away from "health foods" make this a time to indulge together. This needs to let her know that she can eat what she wants in front of you and you won't make any comment on it.

Just an idea... If food is her comfort, and you want her to feel comfortable with you, maybe have a weekly brunch date with her. This is an age where children are supposed to separate from their parents. Unfortunately other than loving her and being there when she asks for help there is nothing you can do. Sometimes we have to let our children fail so they can learn to succeed on their own.
