Aka Intermittent fasting you are talking about. Yup. It's great. I'm doing it on my fat loss journey and im shredding the fat easy mode. Just remember to eat enough calories when you do decide to eat, or you'll risk not eating enough.

Welcome digi! :) Yeah exactly what @JustSomeEm plus what I've learnt is to be consistent and not be too hard on yourself. Also there is NO bad food just bad portions. If you are fancying a cake, then cut a small portion off, weigh it to the exact gram and log it...as long as you are under your calories you are golden.…

What calories are you aiming for? if you have a 1200-1400 calorie goal and you are 800 under then you only ate 400-600 calories?? Please tell me this is not that case.

A simpler way is to just not track macros and focus on calories for the beginning lol When you start getting below 20% body fat is when I personally will start looking at macros. Ah i didn't read your post completely and see your weight. Just use this calculator: https://tdeecalculator.net/

1) Have you checked with a Doctor to see if you are fit enough to exercise? 2) Are you drinking plenty of water, before during and after exercise? If it's your first time exercising in forever then just start off with 15-20 minutes until you are fitter and make sure you are drinking enough and eating something afterwards.

Yup CICO is weight loss in it's simplest form. Log your foods correctly, don't cheat yourself, log literally anything that passes your lips, remain consistent and voila...fat loss.

Welcome Liz and great job on quitting smoking! Aiming to lose 5 pounds first is a great start, you are setting small goals which are easy enough obtain. Just don't be too hard on yourself because don't forget you've given up smoking so your body is already stressed from that. Good luck. :)

Yes you can, but I choose to eat healthy foods because it's more bang for your buck as they say, in regards to satiety, craving control and calorie per gram.
