Not only have some been shown to cause cancer (although, I think you need to consume a lot for this to be an issue), but they all impact your insulin sensitivity which makes it more difficult to lose weight in the long run. I know it's easier said than done, as I've been trying to get rid of my sweet tooth…
  • I don't think there is really much science behind the 2 lbs /week guideline. So if you can do that consistently and you're sure you're not under counting or anything then enjoy it!
  • You lose fat as normal, but whether or not you lose weight depends on how your body retains water. If you can resist the urge to eat sugar/chocolate during your period, then you'll see the effects of the fat loss for sure by the following week.
