Very very bad. Not only have some been shown to cause cancer (although, I think you need to consume a lot for this to be an issue), but they all impact your insulin sensitivity which makes it more difficult to lose weight in the long run. I know it's easier said than done, as I've been trying to get rid of my sweet tooth…

I don't think there is really much science behind the 2 lbs /week guideline. So if you can do that consistently and you're sure you're not under counting or anything then enjoy it!

You lose fat as normal, but whether or not you lose weight depends on how your body retains water. If you can resist the urge to eat sugar/chocolate during your period, then you'll see the effects of the fat loss for sure by the following week.
